    Krivoy Rog Technical University is a diversified center of education, science and culture in Krivbass.

    The Krivoy Rog Technical University includes:

    • 9 faculties (Faculty of Mining, Faculty of Metallurgy, Faculty of Geology and Ecology, Faculty of Economics, Faculty information technologies, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Construction, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Transport),

    Training of specialists at Krivoy Rog Technical University is carried out in 40 specialties at the following levels: bachelor, specialist, master.

    About 14 thousand students study at Krivoy Rog Technical University. During the period from 1922 to 2010, the university trained about 65,000 specialists, including 1,000 foreign citizens from 27 countries.

    Krivoy Rog Technical University is a recognized regional center for training highly qualified personnel - doctors and candidates of science.

    Krivoy Rog Technical University has 3 specialized councils for the defense of candidate and doctoral dissertations in eight specialties. Using its great scientific potential, the university initiated the creation of the Academy of Mining Sciences of Ukraine (1991).

    The creation of the Academy of Mining Sciences made it possible to more effectively combine the educational process with scientific activities academic structures and departments, train specialists responsible modern requirements.

    The educational process and scientific work are carried out in 6 educational and laboratory buildings. They have several buildings of specialized laboratories, 4 dormitories, a sports and recreational camp on the Black Sea coast, a palace for youth and students, and a base for geodetic practice.

    The unique sports base is represented by a complex that includes ten gyms with modern equipment and a stadium with artificial turf. The fleet of personal computers at the university is constantly updated and numbers more than 1000 units.

    The scientific and technical library of the Krivoy Rog Technical University contains 1 million copies of literature. The Geological and Mineralogical Museum has the status of a national treasure of Ukraine.

    Story. The date of foundation of the State Higher Educational Institution "Krivoy Rog National University" (State University "KNU") of the Ministry of Education and Science, Youth and Sports of Ukraine (MONMS of Ukraine) is October 4, 1922, when, in accordance with a special resolution of the Soviet government, in room 7- The Krivoy Rog Evening Workers' College started a summer school at Vecherniy Kut station. His task was to prepare engineering and technical personnel for the iron ore enterprises of Krivoy Rog. In three departments of the technical school - mining, mechanical and electrical engineering, 67 students began their studies, and the educational process was carried out by 20 teachers, 9 of whom had higher education. The first graduation took place in 1926. 12 students received college diplomas.

    Becoming. In 1929, the technical school was transformed into an evening workers' institute, and since 1931 - into the Krivoy Rog Mining Institute. Since 1994, the institute acquired the status of a technical university, and since 1012 - the status of a national one. In the post-war years, the number of specialties in which engineering personnel were trained reached 12. Some teachers were awarded the Lenin and State Prizes. In 1969, the institute's scientists exhibited 39 research works at the USSR Exhibition of Economic Achievements, for which the institute was awarded a Big Gold Medal and a 1st degree Diploma, and 29 teachers and 23 students were awarded exhibition medals and prizes. In 1972, for merits in the training of engineers and the development of scientific research, the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR awarded the institute the Order of the Red Banner of Labor. A significant number of teachers and researchers were awarded government awards. In 1982, the institute was awarded a Certificate of Honor from the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Ukrainian SSR.

    Structure. Over the 90 years of the university’s existence, it has been a path of dynamic formation and development. Currently, Krivoy Rog Technical University is a diversified center of education, science and culture in Krivbass. KNU includes 9 faculties, 4 technical schools - Ingulets Mining, Krivoy Rog Mining and Mining-Electromechanical and Ternovsky Industrial; 17 research laboratories, a center for pre-university training and postgraduate education, a preparatory department. The training of specialists at the university is carried out in 33 specialties at the following levels: bachelor, specialist, master. Every year almost 1,500 young men and women receive student cards. There are over 6,700 students studying at the university. The educational process is provided by 424 full-time teachers and 24 part-time teachers. Among them, there are 48 full-time teaching staff (11.3%) - professors, doctors, 240 people (56.6%) - candidates of science. In total, 67.9% have scientific degrees and academic titles. Among the KTU teachers are 9 academicians, 5 corresponding members of the Academy of Mining Sciences of Ukraine, 3 Honored Workers of Science and Technology, 2 Honored Workers of Public Education of Ukraine, 3 academicians of the International Academy of Computer Science and Systems, 1 Full Member of the New York Academy of Sciences, 5 laureates State Prize of Ukraine in the field of science and technology. Over the years of its existence, the university has significantly improved its material and technical base. In accordance with the curricula and scientific research programs, laboratories are equipped: elementary microscopy, mineral processing, surveying, ore production, theoretical and applied mechanics, robotics, electrical measurements, automated electric drive, heat and gas supply and heat power engineering, university lecture halls, mineralogical, paleontological and geological museums.

Postgraduate studies train scientific and pedagogical personnel in 24 specialties, and doctoral studies in 8. The improvement of practical training of students is facilitated by the work of 7 branches of graduating departments at modern enterprises and organizations of the city - PJSC Constar, PJSC ArcelorMittal Krivoy Rog, Gigant Mine, PJSC Krivorozhgaz, Institute Mekhanobrchermet, Ukrainian State Research Institute of Labor Safety and ecology in the mining industry and metallurgy”, “Spetsavtotsentr”, where, under the guidance of highly qualified specialists, students perform laboratory works, get acquainted with the latest technologies, machines, units, study the forms and methods of managing labor collectives.

    Educational process. The university has a powerful educational and scientific base. The educational process and scientific work are carried out in 6 educational and laboratory buildings. They have: 65 classrooms, 93 laboratories, 12 classrooms, 11 reading rooms, 25 rooms equipped with complexes of technical teaching aids and educational television. Classes equipped with personal computers, 7 drawing rooms, 6 course and diploma design rooms, and 6 gyms are widely used in the educational process. All this contributes to the high-quality training of highly qualified specialists, meets modern requirements and the highest standards of education, which is why few people, after receiving such an education, make custom-made furniture. Over the past 3 years, 350 have been published methodological developments, of which 76% are in Ukrainian. The university uses traditional systems for monitoring the acquisition of skills and knowledge in disciplines: exams, tests, defense of coursework and diploma projects. In addition, throughout the semesters, students are given individual assignments in some disciplines, test papers. Schedule educational process It is planned to conduct certification of students 2 times a semester. The results of certifications are discussed at meetings of departments, the administration and the Academic Council. In order to study the best practices of teachers, the university annually holds competitions for the “Best Department” and “Best Teacher”. In general, the organization of the educational process, personnel and methodological support, material and technical base and the experience of training highly qualified personnel acquired over almost 90 years provide KNU with ample opportunities for training specialists high level and in the 21st century.     Krivoy Rog Technical University(ukr. Krivorizky Technical University) (KTU) is one of four state universities in the city of Krivoy Rog, Ukraine.

    Story

    The founding date of the Krivoy Rog Technical University (KTU) of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine is October 4, 1922, when, in accordance with a special decree of the Soviet government, the Krivoy Rog Evening Workers' College began operating in the premises of a 7-year school at the Vecherny Kut station. His task was to train engineering and technical personnel for the iron ore enterprises of Krivoy Rog. In 3 departments of the technical school - mining, mechanical and electrical engineering, 67 students began their studies, and the educational process was carried out by 20 teachers, 9 of whom had higher education. The first release took place in 1926. 12 students received college diplomas.

    In 1929, the technical school was transformed into an evening workers' institute, and since 1931 - into the Krivoy Rog Mining Institute. Since 1994, the institute acquired the charter of a technical university. In the post-war years, the number of specialties in which engineering personnel were trained reached 12. Some teachers were awarded the Lenin and State Prizes. In 1969, the Institute's scientists presented 39 research works at the USSR Exhibition of Economic Achievements, for which the Institute was awarded a Big Gold Medal and a 1st degree Diploma, and 29 teachers and 23 students were awarded exhibition medals and prizes. In 1972, for its services in the training of engineering personnel and the development of scientific research, the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR awarded the institute the Order of the Red Banner of Labor.     KSRI had its own sports club.

    In 2011, on the basis of the Krivoy Rog Technical University and the Krivoy Rog State pedagogical university Krivoy Rog National University was created.

KTU includes 9 faculties, 4 technical schools, 39 departments, of which 25 are graduating; 17 research laboratories, a center for pre-university training and postgraduate education, a preparatory department. The training of specialists at the university is carried out in 33 specialties at the following levels: bachelor, specialist, master. Almost 1,500 boys and girls receive student cards every year. There are over 6,700 students studying at the university. The educational process is provided by 424 full-time teachers and 24 part-time teachers. Among them, there are 48 full-time teaching staff (11.3%) - professors, doctors, 240 people (56.6%) - candidates of science. In total, 67.9% have scientific degrees and academic titles. Among the KTU teachers are 9 academicians, 5 corresponding members of the Academy of Mining Sciences of Ukraine, 3 Honored Workers of Science and Technology, 2 Honored Workers of Public Education of Ukraine, 3 academicians of the International Academy of Computer Science and Systems, 1 Full Member of the New York Academy of Sciences, 5 laureates State Prize of Ukraine in the field of science and technology.

    The material and technical base of the university includes: 6 academic buildings, 12 reading rooms, 3 dormitories, 2 canteens, a sanatorium, a clinic, and the Charoit sports and recreation center.

The Scientific and Methodological Council reviews normative and methodological materials from different directions educational and methodological process. Over the past 3 years, 350 methodological developments have been published, 76% of them in Ukrainian.
