This day will draw a line under the child’s entire previous life and divide it into two, so far unequal parts: a preschooler and a schoolchild.

Each of you would like his child to be as well prepared as possible. The beginning of school is a new stage in the life of a child (and parents too, of course, requiring a certain level of readiness for this qualitatively new stage in life and a completely new type of activity - educational.

Often, readiness to learn only means a certain level of knowledge, skills and abilities of a child, which of course is also important. The most important thing when moving to a qualitatively new level is psychological readiness for educational activities. And, above all, cultivating a desire to learn (motivational readiness). But that's not all. There is a huge gap between “I want to go to school” and “I need to study, work.” Without realizing this “need,” a child will not be able to study well, even if before school he can read, write, count well, and so on. When preparing a child for school, it is necessary to teach him to listen and hear, see, observe, remember, and process the information received.

The foundation for a child’s successful preparation and adaptation to school is:

  • Physical health of the child.
  • Developed intelligence of a child.
  • The child’s ability to communicate with peers and adults.
  • Endurance and performance.
  • The child's ability to read and count.
  • Accuracy and discipline.
  • Good memory and attention
  • Initiative, will, and the ability to act independently.

Many parents believe that if their child can read, write and count, then he is ready to study, and they will not have any problems with school. Imagine their surprise when the child has no success at school, but only complaints from the teacher, the child’s dislike for the teacher and reluctance to attend school. The optimal answer to the question: “What to do?” no, because all children are different and the reasons for their difficulties at school are different. But there are general approaches to what a child who is going to 1st grade should know and be able to do, as well as what parents should know.

A child's success in school depends on:

Psychological readiness for school arises as a result of the entire preschool life of a child - a preschooler, which implies that the child plays a lot on his own, with peers, with adults in role-playing games and games according to the rules. In addition, he draws, sculpts, cuts out and glues homemade paper, puts together mosaic patterns, assembles cubes according to patterns, works with various construction sets, plays toy musical instruments and, of course, listens to fairy tales, novels, and stories.

Reading should become an integral part of every child's life. The books that are read to children are not always appropriate for their age and development. Sometimes this is reading with a lag (“Turnip”, “Kolobok”, etc.) or with a lead.

When you read to a child, he should definitely express his opinion about what he read. Ask him questions:

– Who did you like and why?

– What would you do if you were a hero?

The speech development of children 6-7 years of age requires a vocabulary of 3.5-7 thousand words, the ability to correctly pronounce sounds, and the ability to perform simple sound analysis of words.

2. Exercises with beads

3. Exercises with plasticine

Plasticine is an excellent material for practicing. Modeling is very good for developing fine motor skills.

A number is an abstract concept, so we start by teaching simple counting. Initially, the child masters the concepts of “many”, “few”, “one”, “several”, as well as “more”, “less” and “equally”. For better memorization, we use visual pictures.

Also, future schoolchildren get acquainted with geometric figures, learn to navigate on a sheet of paper, and also compare two objects by size.

Readiness to learn at school is considered at the present stage of development of psychology as a complex characteristic of a child, which reveals the levels of development of psychological qualities that are the most important prerequisites for normal inclusion in a new social environment and for the formation of educational activities.
Physiological readiness of the child for school.
This aspect means that the child must be physically ready for school. That is, his state of health must allow him to successfully complete the educational program. Physiological readiness implies the development of fine motor skills (fingers) and movement coordination. The child must know in which hand and how to hold the pen. And also, when entering first grade, a child must know, observe and understand the importance of observing basic hygiene standards: correct posture at the table, posture, etc.
Psychological readiness of the child for school.
The psychological aspect includes three components: intellectual readiness, personal and social, emotional-volitional.
1. Intellectual readiness to school means:
- by the first grade, the child should have a stock of certain knowledge (we will talk about them below);
- he must navigate in space, that is, know how to get to school and back, to the store, and so on;
- the child must strive to acquire new knowledge, that is, he must be inquisitive;
- development of memory, speech, and thinking must be age-appropriate.
2. Personal and social readiness implies the following:
- the child must be sociable, that is, be able to communicate with peers and adults; there should be no aggression in communication, and in case of a quarrel with another child, he should be able to evaluate and look for a way out of a problematic situation; the child must understand and recognize the authority of adults;
- tolerance; this means that the child must respond adequately to constructive comments from adults and peers;
- moral development, the child must understand what is good and what is bad;
- the child must accept the task set by the teacher, listening carefully, clarifying unclear points, and after completion he must adequately evaluate his work, admit his mistakes, if any.
3. Emotional-volitional readiness child to school involves:
- the child’s understanding of why he goes to school, the importance of learning;
- interest in learning and acquiring new knowledge;
- the child’s ability to perform a task that he does not quite like, but the curriculum requires it;
- perseverance - the ability to listen carefully to an adult for a certain time and complete tasks without being distracted by extraneous objects and activities.
4. Cognitive readiness child to school.
