The influence of paintings on a person. The colossal influence of art on the emotional sphere The influence of painting on the human psyche

Report

On the topic “How Art influences our lives”

Prepared by Danila Ivanov 9”A” class

Ekaterinburg – November 10, 2016

Art- This is a kind of reflection of the true essence of a person. And it doesn’t matter at all whether he is a great artist or a connoisseur of painting.

The power of true art lies primarily in its impact on the inner world of a person. Agree, one picture can cause a lot of experiences and impressions, which, among other things, can be quite contradictory.

Means of art and its types

First of all, you should decide on the types of art, and there are quite a large number of them. So, main types of art: music, literature, painting, theater, cinema, sculpture, architecture, photography, as well as decorative and applied arts, graphics and much more.

How does art work?

The exact sciences are dispassionate, unlike music or painting, which can evoke a lot of emotions and experiences. Only true masterpieces can contribute to the formation of a special worldview and perception of the surrounding reality. Expressive means of art deserve special attention (rhythm, proportion, shape, tone, texture, etc.), which allow you to fully appreciate a particular work.

Means of expression in art are not intended only to evoke a specific feeling. These methods are intended for more global goals - to form a special inner world of a person who is able to see beauty and create something similar. Speaking about the influencing force of this phenomenon, we cannot limit ourselves to the concepts of good and evil.

Art shapes a person’s inner world, teaches him to distinguish between the concepts of good and evil, to reason about life, as well as to structure his thoughts and even see the world in a multifaceted aspect. Books immerse you in a completely different world of dreams and fantasies, shape a person as a person, and also make you think about many things and take a different look at seemingly ordinary situations.

The influence of various types of art on human life Music

Music can have a wide variety of influences on a person. For some, it can serve as a means of peace and relaxation, and for others it will become a stimulus and impetus for further action. For example, music helps a person in terms of work and creativity. Does music help a person concentrate? Yes and no! In general, in order for a person to concentrate on something, it is not necessary to listen to music, because complete silence is good for better concentration. And this applies to most of us. However, some people in the process of work, in order to think and make important decisions, need some kind of background. The sounds of music help them not only concentrate, but also improve mental performance. To improve results, athletes can be advised to listen to fast-tempo music during intense training, and slow music during breaks. For office workers (or those who work remotely) who believe that music helps a person in their work, the advice is this: if you really need music while working, it is advisable to listen to music that does not contain words.

Music also affects a person's mood. The way music helps a person cope with difficult life situations is hardly comparable to any other influence of external factors. Music can create and maintain the right mood. It helps you relax (it’s not surprising that after work, the first thing some people do when they cross the threshold of their own home is to turn on their favorite compositions), or, on the contrary, it can charge you with energy.

In the morning, it is better to listen to upbeat and rhythmic music; it will help you wake up and make you jump out of bed in the desire to change your life for the better. Also, cheerful and energetic music influences the human psyche and makes him change sadness to joy, and sadness to optimism and love of life.

Calm and smooth music will help you relax and calm down, take your mind off everyday worries, reduce the number of thoughts in your head and focus on self-regulation. Slow and relaxing music affects a person as a sleeping pill, so if you suffer from insomnia and you don’t know how to fall asleep quickly, use this fact.

Moreover, scientists have long come to the conclusion that music is an excellent secondary means of rehabilitating patients and an excellent opportunity to achieve peace of mind. This is why music is often played in hospital wards, thus strengthening faith in a speedy recovery.

Painting

The influencing power of art is the greatest power that can radically change a person’s worldview and significantly influence the formation of his inner world. A riot of colors, rich colors and harmoniously selected shades, smooth lines and large-scale volumes - all these are means of fine art.
Scientists have confirmed the beneficial effects of works of fine art and painting on human mental health. And it doesn’t matter what you see in front of you – a portrait, still life or landscape. Contemplation of painting takes away all worries and improves well-being.

Observing painting helps improve well-being and helps get rid of negative emotions, worries, stress and depression. It has also been proven that those people who surround themselves with paintings significantly reduce their feelings of anxiety and fear (for some phobias, painting plays the role of a kind of psychotherapeutic method).

But the strongest impact on a person’s emotional state and his psyche as a whole is exerted not so much by the perception of beauty as by the process of creating such a creation. Thanks to painting, you can form a lasting tendency to reduce chronic pain.

From different paintings, drawings, photographs there will be so-called common energy, which can influence a person’s subconscious, which can contribute to changing his thoughts and worldview. As a result, people’s very actions and behaviors can naturally change. This total energy consists of the following elements:

  • color range;
  • images and plot;
  • artist's energy.

When choosing a painting, you should pay attention to all these elements. One cannot help but pay attention to a beautiful painting, and the energy it emits can not only shape a person’s inner world, but also perfectly change his life for the better. Therefore, a person should surround himself with beautiful paintings and contemplate beauty!

Poetry and prose

Masterpieces of world classics are a huge number of amazing works that, to one degree or another, influenced the life of almost every person. Drama, tragedy, poetry, poems and odes - all this was reflected to varying degrees in the soul of everyone who was able to touch the works of the classics. The impact of art on a person - in particular literature - is multifaceted. So, for example, in troubled times, writers with their poems called on the people to fight, and with their novels they carried the reader into a completely different world, filled with different colors and characters.

Today, reading and understanding poetry and prose is a real art that requires special effort. Most of the poets of the “silver” and “golden” ages left unsurpassed examples of art, which today are the most revered among the entire population of the planet.

A very important aspect when reading any literary work of poetry is its understanding and feeling. For example, the poetry of nature is not a temple, but a real workshop, which cannot be understood without feeling all the beauty of the surrounding world. And accordingly, if you do not understand poetry, it cannot in any way influence your life, change it, make it more perfect.

Music, literature, fine arts are an integral part of the culture of a person and the society in which he lives. Thanks to all this, a person not only receives aesthetic pleasure, he improves, develops spiritually and finds peace of mind. Art can create miracles

Introduction

“Health is a peak to which a person must climb himself.”

I. Brekhman

A person’s health consists of what he inherits from his parents, lifestyle and environment. But it also depends on a person’s conscious attitude towards himself and the environment - this determines the concept of culture. It must be remembered that health depends on many factors, which are combined into one concept - a healthy lifestyle. Its goal is to teach a person to treat his health, physical and psychological culture wisely, to strengthen his body, and to skillfully organize work and rest.

There are components of an overall health culture that a person needs:

  • body culture;
  • food culture;
  • movement culture;
  • culture of behavior.

To be healthy in adulthood, you need to learn the culture of health from early childhood. And examples include various types of art.Art acts as an activity that seeks human meaning in everything that surrounds a person and comes into his field of vision. That is, art: reflects the world - the way a person sees it;

Relevance

Modern people have a heightened level of visual perception. The younger generation can be called the generation of “running pictures”, and brightly colored ones on the screen. Our senses not only analyze the environment, but also receive information, which, as a rule, has an impact on our body. Color can give vigor and increase performance. Therefore, the topic of health and improving the general level of culture is very relevant at this time.

Target

Draw an analogy of your own perception of health, through color, with the embodiment of your attitude to health using a sample from the PGKhG collection. To form the correct attitude towards the culture of health among schoolchildren through the demonstration of works of art.

Tasks

  • Analyze literary sources on the topic of health. Identify the influence of color on human health.
  • Determine which colors schoolchildren give the most preference to.
  • Select paintings from the collection of the Perm State Art Gallery that match the preferences of schoolchildren.
  • Create a slideshow from selected paintings.

Hypothesis

If a color is associated with a positive mood, then this will mean an attitude towards health and performance.

The influence of color on human health

Each color carries some information, and the human body reacts to it.

For example:
. red – increases muscle tension, increases breathing rate, increases blood pressure;
.
orange – causes mild stimulation, accelerates blood circulation, promotes digestion;
.
yellow – stimulates mental activity;
.
green – calms, calms;
.
blue – lowers blood pressure, calms;
.
blue – disposes to seriousness and rigor in behavior;
.
violet – stimulates the activity of the heart and lungs, increases the body’s resistance to colds.
The most favorable colors for the human eye are green, yellow, blue, yellow-green and green-blue. They give rest to the eyes and have a calming effect, as they are the colors of plants, sun, sky and water. The effect on the psyche can vary significantly depending on the combination of colors, which is successfully used in painting. For example, a red stroke on a blue background expresses anxiety, a noticeable black stroke on white emphasizes mourning and grief. And vice versa: a white figure on a dark background can awaken hope and a desire for joy. The color of the room also affects perception: a room with dark ceilings appears lower; a long room or corridor - shorter with a brightly painted far wall; white stripes on the floor indicate the path of movement and visually lengthen the room. Color affects the perception of distance, volume, mass, illumination, temperature, movement - and therefore the mental state: the human eye perceives red, orange, yellow as warm tones; blue and purple - like cold ones; green has cold and warm shades.
Color psychological studies among children have shown that children give preference to one color or another depending on their age.
At an early age they prefer
red or purple color, with girls mostly pink.
At the age of 9–11 years, interest in the color red is gradually replaced by a gravitation first to orange, then to yellow, yellow-green and green.
After 12 years, the favorite color is blue.
In his book “Man – Color – Space. Applied color psychology” G. Frieling and K. Auer offer the following colors for classroom design.
Yellow color, bright as a sunny day, evokes a cheerful, joyful mood.
Purple and blue are the colors of uncertainty and gloom.
We perceive blue as a light, heavenly color. Walls painted dark blue make us feel sad.
Light greens seem light and airy, while swamp green, on the contrary, seems soft and heavy. The green color of the grass soothes, makes you sleepy, and makes you want to dream.
Brown is perceived as harsher, earthier than pure orange.
Active colors - yellow and red - always have an advantage over passive ones - blue and green, so they are desirable in small doses. Yellow and red are imprinted in memory much more deeply. Often an excited child, after being shown a red object in the environment, calms down. When we bring the color red into the design of classrooms for primary schoolchildren, be it a red panel or a red wall, we can be sure that this color will have a calming effect on children. Black chalkboards should be avoided if possible; dark green or dark blue should be preferred. You should not create a sharp color contrast on the wall where the chalkboard hangs, so as not to tire the students’ eyesight.
In accordance with the table, we can recommend the following.
The front wall can in many cases be painted a more intense color than the back and side walls. For first graders, it is better to use intense, pure red tones. The red color in the room for second graders can be gradually replaced by orange-red or orange, for 10- and 11-year-old children - yellow-green, then green.
For walls in classrooms and the library, shades of yellow (beige, cream, light ocher) are most suitable. These tones discipline, but the main advantage of yellow is that it activates mental activity and promotes concentration.
The furniture in the classroom should not contrast with the walls, so as not to distract from the semantic center of the room - the board: it is on it that children's eyes are directed during a long school day. It turned out that on the black board, paradoxically, the inscriptions in white chalk are difficult to distinguish. The brown board puts you to sleep. The dark green board won the competition: against its background, the inscriptions made with yellow and orange crayons are best read. Stands, a cool corner where all kinds of information is placed, cool newspapers - something also depends on the color of these details in the interior. There is a certain order of ease of reading text on a colored background. The easiest to read is black on yellow (but this is a very troubled combination: it must be used carefully). Green (or blue) text on white, etc. looks good.
The gym looks great if you paint it in light shades of orange: this is the most energizing, most cheerful color. It stimulates activity - it’s easier to get kids excited in an orange room than, say, in a blue room. In addition, this color warms, which is useful for bare-legged children dressed in T-shirts.
Stairways should be green. Green stabilizes breathing and heartbeat. During recess, when children are running up and down the stairs, the color green will keep their respiratory system in balance.
It is better to paint corridors and lobbies in cool colors: blue, turquoise, pearl gray. These shades promote relaxation and give rest to the eyes.

This work intends to show the relationship between a person’s attitude to health through the transmission of color in painting.

Research methods

  • Theoretical: analysis of literary sources, comparisons.
  • Empirical: survey
  • Analytical: research.

Research methodology

  1. Questionnaire: “Color perception of school classrooms”

The survey was conducted among students in grades 4-10

Information was collected on how comfortable students feel in the following classrooms:

  • Biology class;
  • Mathematics room;
  • English classroom.

2. Study: “Preference for colors by schoolchildren”

Stage I – diagnostic

Target: find out which colors schoolchildren give the most preference to. Determine their emotional state at the moment.

Stage II – analytical

Target: analyze the results and formulate recommendations.

At the first stage, diagnostics and questioning became the main methods. The methods of “Emotional Spheres” by Y. Bashkirova, “Color Test” by Luscher, as well as the method of direct observation were used. The survey was conducted using the developed “Emotional Stability” questionnaire. A set of seven primary colors according to Luscher was used, which visually helped students with color choice.

Conclusion

The guys chose the colors they felt necessary for comfort and a good working mood. These turned out to be yellow, green and pink. We tried to place exactly this color scheme in the selection of paintings from the collection of the Perm State Art Gallery. It is expected that the display of both the slide show in general and the exhibition of reproductions in the classroom will raise both the general well-being and the cultural level as a whole.

From the studies conducted, the following conclusions can be drawn: academic performance depends on the parameters of the favorable conditions of the premises; the condition of school classrooms does not meet the requirements in all respects; the unfavorable color environment of school classrooms is one of the main factors of visual impairment and discomfort for working in the classroom.

This study is only a small part of how human health is related to the visual arts. In the future, it is planned to consider the following areas: human health as a work of art, man as the main subject of art, etc.

Art is an integral part of our culture. Thanks to music, painting and literature, we not only learn something new, receiving emotional pleasure, but also begin to improve by developing our inner spiritual world. Everyone has long known what art is capable of - it can create miracles! And there is plenty of evidence of this.

Since ancient times, people have known that art can be used for medicinal purposes. Today, music is widely used in medicine in the treatment of psychological diseases. She is able to awaken new feelings in a person and pacify him.

Music can be used not only in treatment, but also in education. There are many compositions, listening to which a person develops the ability to study such exact sciences as: mathematics, physics, foreign languages, etc. Classical music can open up a feeling of calm and relaxation in a person. In this state, learning something new, perceiving and remembering information occurs much better.

However, music is just a part of art. The world of colors also plays a big role in our lives. We can see this on Art of Russia http://artofrussia.ru/, which perfectly shows how fine art can have a good influence on a person. It helps to express new emotions, encourages creativity, calms the nervous system, and can also charge you with new vital energy.

In medical practice, fine art is widely used for medicinal purposes. Special events are created where people can express their emotions and inner experiences through creativity.

Regardless of whether we listen to excellent music, look at an elegant painting, or admire another work of art, in any case we can find in it what we and our soul will need in moments of joy or adversity.

Public lesson

in fine arts

on this topic:

in 9th grade.

Teacher Koroleva A.D.

2016

The purpose of the lesson:

Show children how works of art can influence the human psyche (positive and negative aspects)

Introduce children to one of the healing methods of art - art therapy

To develop an interest in fine arts and a desire to participate in the creative process.

Material: presentation, student reports.

During the classes:

(slide No. 1 – topic of the lesson)

Teacher:

Today in class we will talk about the influence of works of fine art on the human psyche.

(slide 2 – quote)

Teacher:

The English writer Oscar Wilde has this saying: “Art is a mirror that reflects the one who looks into it, and not life at all.” And today we will try to prove it. Students in your class have prepared interesting information on this matter. Let's listen to them.

Fine art and mental processes are a very interesting and still little studied topic in modern psychology. Almost nothing is known about the influence of the visual arts of great masters on the mental state of viewers. Until recently, specialists in the field of the theory of psychological knowledge have paid insufficient attention to this issue. In the last decade, the prestige of fine art has noticeably increased among specialists in the helping professions: psychologists, teachers, doctors, social workers. They readily dictate that art undoubtedly has a significant influence on the formation and functioning of an individual personality. The nature of the attitude of a modern person to art, the activity of consumption and orientation reflect the structure of his personality at a given moment in life and give an integral idea of \u200b\u200bthe person as a whole. It is the ethical taste, assessment, choice, interest, preference or rejection of a work of art that reflects both the innate (temperament, intelligence) and acquired (cultural) parameters of his personal structure. In addition to the influence of fashion, spontaneous hobbies, normative and cultural factors, certain, stable inclinations appear in ethical perception. One person is characterized by a preference for joyful, major works of art, while for others, on the contrary, minor, complex, with philosophical overtones or light, sentimental, entertaining ones. One gives preference to form, the other strives to go deeper into content. “Sometimes we can tell in advance exactly how a person we know will react to a certain film or book, who should and who should not be recommended to visit this or that exhibition. It has long been noticed that people with a similar psychological make-up like the same works of art. Sometimes There are circumstances when the same person, being in such a state of mind, is not sensitive to the effects of works of art and is not capable of aesthetic perception, and sometimes vice versa.

(slide No. 3 – reproduction of I. Repin, “Ivan the Terrible and his son Ivan”)

Teacher:

I would like to cite as an example the work of Ilya Repin “Ivan the Terrible and his son Ivan”; note how the artist reveals the poignancy of the plot, how he reliably conveys the feelings of a father who lost his only son.

Question:

1. What techniques does the artist use for this? (tone, color, construction of perspective).

2. How does viewing this picture make you feel?

Teacher:

- The artist conveyed his inner state with great accuracy - painful tension, fear of death, which led to depression Appearing for the first time at the Tretyakov Gallery, it made a colossal impression on the viewer. The reason for this was that they hung it in a narrow, long room. From the door to the painting you had to walk along a red carpet. The dim lighting of the candle... and it seemed that you had entered the room where a murder had been committed... (In the picture, the floor is covered with a red carpet...) The combination of red and black has an exciting effect on the psyche. The last visitor, an Old Believer, stood at the painting for a long time. And with a cry: “Enough blood!” attacked the painting and cut it. But this case is not isolated.

The curator of the Tretyakov Gallery, Khrustalev, often lingered near the canvas and became immersed in thought. And here is the result: during night duty, he hanged himself. I believe this is a negative impact of the picture on the weakened human psyche.

(slide number 4 – Edvard Munch)

Student:

The artist conveyed his inner state with great accuracy - painful tension, fear of death, which led to depression.

This work was named by the artist “The Scream”, 1983 and is located in the Art Museum in Oslo. Crowds of people stand around this painting for hours, it leaves them in shock. How do you feel about what you saw?

(slide No. 5 – V. Gog.)

The Dutch painter Vincent Van Gogh was accompanied throughout his life by poverty, the malicious mistrust of others and misunderstanding on their part. The artist’s emotional experiences were reflected in many of his paintings. Did the use of cold tones and new techniques shock his contemporaries?

What impression did viewing this picture cause in your soul?

(slide No. 6 – paintings by Russian landscape painters)

Teacher:

Guys, a picture doesn’t have to traumatize the psyche, it can delight the soul and touch us to the depths of our souls. Such works include works by famous Russian artists: Shishkin, Vasiliev, Levitan. The beauty of nature conveyed by them brings relief to the soul. Their paintings are distinguished by a deep lyrical feeling.

(slide number 7 – art therapy)

Treatment and restoration of the nervous system using art in the scientific lexicon sounds like art therapy. This term appeared in the 80s. Scientists rely on outstanding discoveries in the field of psychoanalysis.

Of particular interest is the thesis about the perception and experience of works of art by the artist himself, on the one hand, and by the viewer, on the other. A thoughtful, sensitive viewer perceives a work of art and enters into co-creation. It is this phenomenon of transformation of the viewer’s soul, its departure from the unreal world of poetry and art that art therapy takes as its basis. By influencing the human psyche, a work of art excites emotions that lead to an explosion, a discharge of nervous energy.

(slide number 8 - view of the hospital)

Student #1:

-All this prompted the creation of an art gallery in the surgical department of the Republican Clinical Hospital. G.G. Kuvatova. Artist E.A. provided great assistance in creating the gallery. Vinokurov. Mostly works by artists from Bashkortostan are exhibited: landscapes, still lifes, portraits. The effect of the exhibition is amazing. Once, a 79-year-old patient, looking at the landscape works of the artist Ramil Latypov, said to the doctor: “These paintings give me warmth and a desire to see my household, which cannot be without me for so long. Many thanks to the artist, who, like a doctor, brought relief to my soul.” Observing the reaction of patients to the works of artists made it possible to notice the relationship between color preference and the internal state of a person.

(slide No. 9 – works of artists exhibited in the hospital)

In seriously ill patients, the color red causes irritation, while recovering patients are pleased with the works of artists in which there is a lot of red, yellow and orange colors. All this confirms the feasibility of using art therapy in the treatment of patients. The art gallery of the Republican Clinical Hospital serves this purpose.

Student #2:

The mechanism of influence of a work of art on a person is its impact on the senses. We have a feeling of admiration and pleasure when we see pictures in warm colors and joy covers us. We cannot always explain why we like or dislike this or that work. Works of the realistic genre activate the psyche and interest in life. Art opens up a wonderful world to a person, filled with colors and sounds that captivate the soul. It acts on him like medicine. It is not for nothing that the main principle of healing is the ancient expression - “Treat not the disease, but the patient.” This shows the kinship between medicine and art. During difficult, critical moments in life, we often turn to art, which not only temporarily distracts us from problems, but also allows us to look at them differently, comprehend them, and experience them. When we are in an art gallery, at a concert, or expressing ourselves through creativity (playing a musical instrument, drawing, etc.), art becomes a rich source of self-knowledge, joy, strength and health.

Energy paintings by artists
ART Studio "Art of Russia"

Nowadays, it is considered almost a sign of good taste to have real original oil paintings in the house, and not a cheap lithograph that poorly (or even well) conveys the color and texture of the original. Even if not everyone can afford a copy of Shishkin, Vasnetsov, Gainsborough or Korovin, and there won’t be enough for all the originals, it must be “made by hand”, without the use of technical means and duplicating equipment. And even better - a completely original work. There is a certain, quite understandable reason for this.

The fact that artistic images, especially paintings, have an energetic effect on a person and his condition has been known for a long time. They even wrote books about this - remember Wilde’s “The Picture of Dorian Gray”, but in the novel about mysticism it is clearly too much. Of course, there is no point in keeping such a painting in the house, but having positive, invigorating and supportive energy is very useful.

What is the impact of the painting on the environment and people? The main ones are three factors: the artist’s mood at the time of writing, the material used in the work, and the triad “plot - style - genre”.

Let's start with the last one. According to the genre for the home, it is better to choose marina, still life, veduta. Portrait, nude, bodegon, everyday and historical genres occupy a certain intermediate position. Their relevance largely depends on the subject and the room for which they are intended. It would not occur to a sane person to hang a “nudity” in a child’s room or kitchen. But it is better to avoid the battle genre and Vanitas with its skulls and rotting fruit. Needless to say, paintings depicting a grave have a very bad influence on people, even to the point of complete destruction and destruction of their owners!

It is worth considering paintings of the animal genre with caution and knowledge of the matter, because animals initially metaphorically and allegorically symbolized human vices and virtues. These comparisons exist in the human subconscious, so the image of a pair of swans in the bedroom is much preferable to an attacking falcon or eagle. But this is the second aspect of this triad - the plot, which carries an information load.

Regarding style, this is a matter of taste, but in all their diversity, those closest to reality are more preferable. It is clear that the plot must correspond to a balanced combination of genre and style - there is no need to choose “heavy”, “intense” types. In general, assessing this triad, we can conclude that the most preferable will be styles, subjects and genres that have been developed over centuries, which are perfectly manifested in copies of works by famous artists of the past. A copy of a landscape by a Dutch master of the 17th century will certainly not bring negative energy into your home.

The power of paintings to influence people's condition

The second aspect that determines the power of a painting’s impact on a person is the material used in its creation. Scientists have found that natural drying oils (oils boiled in a special way) have a special structure that is capable of “recording” energy-informational signals. Specific matrices arise in them that preserve the recording indefinitely (until the paint made on this drying oil is destroyed). All other materials have a much “shorter” and “small” memory. It is this fact that determines the preference for choosing paintings executed in oil on canvas (it also uses natural material). It is no coincidence that the main character of the television series “Liquidation”, David Gotsman, preferred “oil painting” to all other types of paintings! However, it must be borne in mind that oil drying oils remember both positive and negative information equally well, so the plot, genre and style of the canvas are extremely important.

The third, no less significant element is the author of the work, the specific artist who created it, and his psychological mood. In original works, this is easily visible and felt even by an unprepared person - he will simply say that he likes it, he doesn’t like it, without even knowing why.

Is there an easy way to choose and buy a painting that will certainly not harm your home? Yes, and very affordable. We offer visitors ready-made paintings that fully meet all of the above requirements. You won’t see Vanitas there, but we will offer a lot of aesthetic, positively charged original works. If desired, the masters will create a painting according to your “project”, at the highest artistic level.

In any case, the “oil painting” from Wall Painting and Art of Russia gallery will bring only positive things to your home!
