The Bermuda Triangle: Mysterious Disappearances and Scientific Explanations. Where is the Bermuda Triangle located, and why everything disappears in it Why do people disappear in the Bermuda Triangle

The Bermuda Triangle or Atlantis is a place where people disappear, ships and planes disappear, navigation instruments fail, and almost no one ever finds the crashed. This hostile, mystical, ominous country for a person instills such great horror in the hearts of people that they often simply refuse to talk about it.

Many pilots and sailors have no other alternative than to constantly surf the water / air expanses of this mysterious territory - a considerable flow of tourists and vacationers rushes into the area surrounded on three sides by fashionable resorts. Therefore, it is simply impossible and impossible to isolate the Bermuda Triangle from the world around it. And, although most of the ships pass this zone without any problems, no one is immune from the fact that one day they may not return.

About the existence of such a mysterious and amazing phenomenon called the Bermuda Triangle a hundred years ago, few people knew. To actively occupy people's minds and force them to put forward various hypotheses and theories, this mystery of the Bermuda Triangle began in the 70s. of the last century, when Charles Berlitz published a book in which he described the stories of the most mysterious and mystical disappearances in this region in an extremely interesting and fascinating way. After that, the journalists picked up the story, developed the theme, and the story of the Bermuda Triangle began. Everyone began to worry about the secrets of the Bermuda Triangle and the place where the Bermuda Triangle or the missing Atlantis is located.

This wonderful place or the missing Atlantis is located in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of North America - between Puerto Rico, Miami and Bermuda. It is located in two climatic zones at once: the upper part, the larger one - in the subtropics, the lower one - in the tropics. If these points are connected with each other by three lines, a large triangular figure will appear on the map, the total area of \u200b\u200bwhich is about 4 million square kilometers.

This triangle is rather arbitrary, since ships also disappear outside its borders - and if you mark on the map all the coordinates of disappearances, flying and floating vehicles, you will most likely get a rhombus.

The term itself is unofficial, its author is Vincent Gaddis, who in the 60s. last century published an article entitled "The Bermuda Triangle is the lair of the devil (death)". The note did not cause much excitement, but the phrase was fixed and reliably came into use.

Terrain features and possible causes of crashes

For knowledgeable people, the fact that ships often crash here is not particularly surprising: this region is not easy to navigate - there are many shoals, a huge number of fast water and air currents, cyclones often arise and hurricanes rage.

Bottom

What is hidden in the Bermuda Triangle under water? The bottom relief in this area is interesting and varied, although it is nothing ordinary and has been studied quite well, since some time ago various studies and drilling were carried out here in order to find oil and other minerals.

Scientists have determined that the Bermuda Triangle or the missing Atlantis contains mainly sedimentary rocks on the ocean floor, the layer thickness of which is from 1 to 2 km, and it itself looks like this:

  1. Deep-water plains of oceanic basins - 35%;
  2. Shelf with shoals - 25%;
  3. The slope and foot of the mainland - 18%;
  4. Plateau - 15%;
  5. Deep ocean trenches - 5% (the deepest places of the Atlantic Ocean are located here, as well as its maximum depth - 8742 m, recorded in the Puerto Rican trench);
  6. Deep straits - 2%;
  7. Seamounts - 0.3% (there are six in total).

Water currents. Gulfstream

Almost the entire western part of the Bermuda Triangle is crossed by the Gulf Stream, so the air temperature here is usually 10 ° C higher than in the rest of this mysterious anomaly. Because of this, in the places of collisions of atmospheric fronts of different temperatures, one can often see fog, which often strikes the mind of overly impressionable travelers.

The Gulf Stream itself is a very fast current, the speed of which often reaches ten kilometers per hour (it should be noted that many modern transoceanic ships move slightly faster - from 13 to 30 km / h). An extremely fast flow of water can easily slow down or increase the movement of the ship (it all depends on which direction it is sailing). There is nothing surprising in the fact that ships of weaker power in former times easily went off course and were swept absolutely in the wrong direction, as a result of which they suffered wrecks and disappeared forever in the oceanic abyss.

Other currents

In addition to the Gulf Stream, strong but irregular currents constantly arise in the Bermuda Triangle, the appearance or direction of which is almost never predictable. They are formed mainly under the influence of tidal and ebb waves in shallow water and their speed is as high as that of the Gulf Stream - and is about 10 km / h.

As a result of their occurrence, whirlpools are often formed, causing trouble for small ships with a weak engine. There is nothing surprising in the fact that if in former times a sailing ship got here, it was not easy for him to get out of the whirlwind, and under especially unfavorable circumstances, one might even say - impossible.

water shafts

In the area of the Bermuda Triangle, hurricanes are often formed, the wind speed of which is about 120 m / s, also generating fast currents, the speed of which is equal to the speed of the Gulf Stream. They, creating huge shafts, rush along the surface of the Atlantic Ocean until they hit the coral reefs at great speed, breaking the ship if it had the misfortune to be in the path of giant waves.

In the east of the Bermuda Triangle, the Sargasso Sea is located - a sea without coasts, surrounded on all sides instead of land by the strong currents of the Atlantic Ocean - the Gulf Stream, the North Atlantic, the North Trade Wind and the Canary.

Outwardly, it seems that its waters are motionless, the currents are weak and hardly noticeable, while the water here is constantly moving, since the water flows, pouring into it from all sides, rotate the sea water clockwise.

Another remarkable thing about the Sargasso Sea is the huge amount of algae in it (contrary to popular belief, there are also areas with completely clear water). When in former times ships were brought here for some reason, they got entangled in dense sea plants and, falling into a whirlpool, albeit slowly, they were no longer able to get back.

The movement of air masses

Since this area lies in the region of the trade winds, extremely strong winds constantly blow over the Bermuda Triangle. Stormy days are not uncommon here (according to various meteorological services, there are about eighty stormy days here a year - that is, once every four days the weather here is terrible and disgusting.

Here is another explanation of why missing ships and planes were found earlier. It is now that almost all captains are aware of the meteorologists when exactly the weather will be bad. Previously, due to the lack of information, during terrible storms, many sea vessels found their last refuge in this area.

In addition to the trade winds, cyclones feel comfortable here, the air masses of which, creating whirlwinds and tornadoes, rush at a speed of 30-50 km / h. They are extremely dangerous, because, raising warm water up, they turn it into huge water columns (often their height reaches 30 meters), with an unpredictable trajectory and crazy speed. A small ship in such a situation has practically no chance of surviving, a large one is likely to stay afloat, but it is unlikely to get out of trouble safe and sound.

Infrasonic signals

Another reason for the huge number of accidents, experts call the ability of the ocean to produce infrasound signals that cause panic among the crew, because of which people can even throw themselves overboard. The sound of this frequency affects not only waterfowl, but also aircraft.

Researchers assign an important role in this process to hurricanes, storm winds and high waves. When the wind starts to beat against the crests of the waves, a low-frequency wave arises, which almost immediately rushes forward and signals the approach of a strong storm. While moving, she catches up with the floating ship, hits the sides of the ship, then goes down to the cabins.

Once in a confined space, the infrasonic wave begins to psychologically put pressure on the people there, causing panic and nightmare visions, and when they see their worst nightmares, people lose control of themselves and jump overboard in despair. The ship completely leaves life, it is left without control and begins to drift until it is found (which can take more than one decade).

The infrasonic wave acts on aircraft in a slightly different way. An infrasonic wave hits a plane flying over the Bermuda Triangle, which, as in the previous case, begins to psychologically put pressure on the pilots, as a result, they stop thinking about what they are doing, especially since at this moment phantoms begin to appear in front of them. Further, either the pilot will crash, or he will be able to take the ship out of the dangerous zone for him, or the autopilot will save him.

Gas bubbles: methane

Researchers are constantly bringing up interesting facts about the Bermuda Triangle. For example, there are suggestions that in the area of the Bermuda Triangle bubbles often form, filled with gas - methane, which appears from cracks in the ocean floor that were formed after the eruptions of ancient volcanoes (oceanographers found huge accumulations of methane crystal hydrate above them).

After some time, certain processes begin to occur in methane for one reason or another (for example, their appearance can cause a weak earthquake) - and it forms a bubble, which, rising up, bursts at the surface of the water. When this happens, the gas escapes into the air, and a funnel forms in place of the former bubble.

Sometimes the ship passes over the bubble without problems, sometimes it breaks through it, and crashes. In reality, no one has ever seen the impact of methane bubbles on ships, some researchers claim that a huge number of ships go missing for this very reason.

When the ship hits the crest of one of the waves, the ship begins to descend - and then the water under the ship suddenly bursts, disappears - and it falls into empty space, after which the waters close - and water rushes into it. There is no one to save the ship at this time - when the water disappeared, concentrated methane gas escaped, instantly killing the entire crew, and the ship sinks, and forever ends up on the ocean floor.

The authors of this hypothesis are convinced that this theory also explains the reasons for the presence of ships with dead sailors in this area, on whose bodies no injuries were found. Most likely, the ship, when the bubble burst, was far enough away that something threatened it, but the gas got to people.

As for airplanes, methane can also have a detrimental effect on them. Basically, this happens when methane that has risen into the air enters the fuel, explodes, and the plane falls down, after which, falling into a whirlpool, it disappears forever in the ocean depths.

Magnetic anomalies

In the area of the Bermuda Triangle, magnetic anomalies also often occur, confusing all the navigational equipment of ships. They are unstable, and appear mainly when the tectonic plates diverge as much as possible.

As a result, unstable electric fields and magnetic disturbances arise that adversely affect the psychological state of a person, change instrument readings and neutralize radio communications.

Hypotheses for the disappearance of ships

The mysteries of the Bermuda Triangle never cease to interest the human mind. Why it is here that ships crash and disappear, journalists and lovers of everything unknown put forward many more theories and assumptions.

Some believe that interruptions in navigation instruments are caused by Atlantis, namely its crystals, which were previously located precisely on the territory of the Bermuda Triangle. Despite the fact that only tiny bits of information have come down to us from the ancient civilization, these crystals are still active and send signals from the depths of the ocean floor that cause interruptions in navigation instruments.

Another interesting theory is the hypothesis that the Bermuda Triangle or Atlantis contains portals leading to other dimensions (both in space and in time). Some are even sure that it was through them that aliens penetrated the Earth in order to kidnap people and ships.

Military operations or piracy - many believe (even if this is not proven) that the loss of modern ships is directly related to these two reasons, especially since such cases have happened repeatedly before. Human error - ordinary disorientation in space and incorrect interpretation of instrument indicators may also well be the cause of the death of the ship.

Is there a secret?

Have all the secrets of the Bermuda Triangle been revealed? Despite the excitement raised around the Bermuda Triangle, scientists argue that in reality this territory is no different, and a large number of accidents are mainly associated with difficult natural conditions for navigation (especially since the World Ocean contains many other, more dangerous for humans) places). And the fear that causes the Bermuda Triangle or the missing Atlantis are ordinary prejudices, constantly fueled by journalists and other sensation lovers.

Well-read and curious Russians are well aware of the graveyard of aircraft and ships in the Bermuda Triangle. Stories about them inspire fear, but such is the psychology of a person that he constantly craves to read, listen, see about any riddle. And suddenly the solution will be found ...

Why is no one afraid of the Bermudas themselves?

Bermuda is an overseas territory Great Britain and are located 900 kilometers from the United States. Known as a resort for the rich of this world and the fact that they do not produce a single drop of fresh water. And she is always there. The roofs of the houses are arranged in such a way that raindrops are collected and carefully stored and used. Tourists are not afraid of numerous stories about disasters in the waters of the Atlantic almost off the coast with expensive hotels and numerous coastal bungalows for travelers.

The Bermuda Triangle is a mystery, the reason for the disappearance of ships and planes

In part, scientists have outlined the causes of death in this part of the Atlantic Ocean. Oddly enough, everyone's favorite Gulf Stream, a warm current, is also the culprit of death. It has a high speed of movement, it also has countercurrents. Can lead captains astray and push ships into the Sargasso Sea with its giant algae. The methane version has acquired evidence. This gas rises to the surface and, as it were, liquefies sea water. And the ship just falls through, because it floats on the water because of its density.

History of disasters

In 1840, information about disasters had not yet been published, and the world insurance company Lloyd did not attribute the anomalous waters of the Atlantic to risks. And the sailing ship "Rosalia", lost in these places, was found near the Bahamas. Drifting, and with a supply of provisions and water, but ... without a crew.

But how did the U.S. Navy's twin-pipe truck, the Cyclops, fall for the Bermuda trap in 1918? But on the way from Latin America to their homeland, it sank into oblivion along with the cargo and three hundred passengers and crew. Something very serious happened to him, because even a distress signal was not given.

The same happened with other courts.

What about airplanes? 90 years ago, the most experienced US flight tester Lindberg himself was tested in flight over the anomalous zone. The plane was suddenly enveloped, like cotton wool, in a cloud. The compass needles began to dance; where to turn the steering wheel is unknown. Only the pilot's composure helped him. The cloud disappeared, and the pilot, guided by the sun and the outlines of the coast, brought the plane to the airfield.

Even the tragedy with five carrier-based torpedo bombers did not force the Pentagon, which knew a lot about the "triangle", to reveal its secrets about the Bermuda anomalies. For this knowledge to save those who fell into the water paranormality. After all, the military, and this is no secret, are studying the region in connection with the numerous appearances of UFOs in it. Torpedo bombers in 1945 flew in the zone of anomalies. They failed both compasses in every cockpit, and the cars stayed in the air as long as there was fuel. But where they went is unknown, and there were not even oil stains on the water. And the plane sent to help with landing on the water also disappeared.

Some Americans on the radio heard the communications of the flight commander. It seems he mentioned the whitened water under the wings and the UFO. White - from liquefaction with methane gas. This is a threat to floating ships, but how the gas interfered with the aircraft is not clear. Cases of aircraft teleportation are known. Soviet pilots ended up in the Urals instead of Moscow. In 1970, B. Gernon with two passengers on a single-engine plane flew on his way to Florida through the "triangle". Suddenly disappeared from coastal radars.

There was one and a half hundred kilometers left before the landing airport in Miami, as a thundercloud appeared on the path of the plane. He had to be wrapped around.

And then all three saw that the aircraft was tightening the spiral tunnel, and they found themselves in weightlessness.

After being released from anomalous captivity, the pilot saw that the remaining path flew by in ... 3 minutes. But then it should have a speed twice that of supersonic - 3000 km. hour. And the power of his Beechcraft was 230 km / h.

Incredible Facts

The classic boundaries of the Bermuda Triangle stretch from Miami, Florida to San Juan, Puerto Rico, to Bermuda. Most of the mysterious events take place in the southern part of the triangle, in the strait between Florida and the Bahamas.

About a hundred aircraft and sea vessels disappeared or crashed in this area, taking with them the lives of more than a thousand people: men, women, children. No one can accurately answer the question of what is the cause of their death. There are a great many versions, but you will learn about the most famous of them from this article, from the most plausible to the incredible.

1) Human factor

Since the human factor is not a sensational thing at all, this version can be considered one of the latest in explaining the events of the Bermuda Triangle, although it also has the right to life. According to the theory of probability, those ships that crashed and disappeared in the Bermuda Triangle, just fell victim to crew errors. This version may be considered by those who do not believe in the supernatural.

Man is a creature that makes mistakes regularly. Even the most experienced professional pilots can momentarily lose concentration, which often leads to disaster. The most famous plane crash in the Bermuda Triangle occurred on December 5, 1945. The squadron leader was Lieutenant Charles Taylor, an instructor pilot in the Naval Aviation. Taylor was far from a novice in his field, so the story of the disappearance of as many as 5 aircraft that he commanded seems very mystical. The military was going to practice flying around before approaching a target over the Florida Keys south of Florida, but somehow got disoriented on the way home and disappeared somewhere near the Bahamas. 14 pilots, along with the planes, irretrievably disappeared into the depths of the ocean, and the wreckage was never found.

A rescue team, including a seaplane, was sent in search of the missing squadron. "Martin Mariner", which also disappeared without a trace for an unknown reason. This is a very strange event for professional military pilots, but the combination of certain circumstances quite allows for such a development. Taylor's radio conversations are preserved, and in them he points out that his compass failed. Since he could no longer navigate by the north magnetic pole, he and his team made an attempt to return west to the coast of Florida to catch the midday sun directly in front of them. These attempts were unsuccessful. Taylor may have confused the coastline of the Bahamas with that of Florida.

2) The Gulf Stream

The Gulf Stream is often blamed for the fact that in the shallow waters where it passes, often no wreckage of sunken ships or crashed aircraft can be found. This current is a salty ocean surface river that is warmer than the surrounding waters, causing it to flow north along the US East Coast. The current itself is mostly about 100 kilometers wide and 760 to 1220 meters deep, with a surface speed of up to 2.5 meters per second. The strength of this current is such that it allows hydroelectric power plants to supply energy to all of North America. In the area of the Bermuda Triangle, the Gulf Stream is the most powerful and fastest at the surface of the water.

If ships sink or planes crash in the area, they are immediately swept away by the current in a matter of hours or more, depending on the severity of the damage to the ship. The Gulf Stream can drag debris along with it until it settles at a great depth where the current cannot reach. That is, even if the ship crashed in one place, its wreckage will be resting in a completely different place. When rescuers tried to locate a wrecked ship or plane where communication was lost, they saw a calm ocean and nothing else, even if they searched within a radius of hundreds of kilometers. This does not explain why ships and planes crashed, but it does explain why the wreckage was never found, even if the search began relatively quickly.

3) Anomalous killer waves

Anomalous waves, over 30 meters high, were considered just a theory for several hundred years, until their existence was proven on January 1, 1995 on an oil rig in Norway. In heavy seas with an average wave height of about 10 meters, the drilling rig was safe, as it was at a sufficient height, until one day it met with a wave about 25 meters high, which caused it light damage. This was confirmed by sensors, which proved that the sailors' superstitious stories about sea monsters were true.

Waves are perhaps the most terrible cataclysms that you can meet at sea. Their appearance cannot be predicted, no mathematical calculations can predict where and when they will appear. Several dozen waves of average height under certain conditions can turn into one giant wave, which will grow even more. Waves have no maximum limit. 25-meter waves may even seem relatively small.

In 1985, a wave 48 meters high hit the south coast of Ireland. Such giant vertical walls of water can easily topple even supertankers and sink them in the blink of an eye. The largest such vessel was a supertanker "Knock Nevis" 458.45 meters long. For example, "Titanic" had a length of only 270 meters. "Knock Nevis" should have turned straight into the wave so as not to capsize, but even in this case, waves of this height can easily capsize the tanker and sink it.

Killer waves are not caused by just one factor, but mostly because of the strong winds and currents that raise the waves. These waves occur quite rarely, about 1 killer wave per 200,000 normal waves. They are more common in the Bermuda Triangle than in the calm expanses of the ocean, due to hurricanes and the current of the Gulf Stream. Waves 50 meters high can not only sink ships, but also carry low-flying planes and helicopters to the bottom, especially those belonging to the Coastal Border Guard and specially flying low above the water in search of sunken ships and surviving crew members.

4) Methane hydrate

Methane hydrate is a chemical substance that is a combination of methane gas with water. There are a huge number of deposits of this substance in the world, many of which are not yet known. Methane gas penetrates the natural structures of water, forming something like ice. The deposits of this substance are located under the seabed and can form at any depth, even at a depth of only a few centimeters. Depending on its size, the methane hydrate layer has tremendous potential energy, and if released immediately, it could blow up an entire oil well. In an oil well disaster deepwater horizon methane hydrate was involved. An oil drill hit deposits of this substance under the seabed, causing the methane to destroy and sink the oil rig.

It seems quite plausible that methane hydrate could break through the ocean floor, resulting in the release of methane gas to the surface where the ship sails. If this happens, the methane will turn the area around the ship into foam, greatly reducing buoyancy, so anything from a wooden boat to a huge tanker can sink in less than 10 seconds. During such a time, no one can be saved by leaving the ship. The ocean itself can simply swallow the ship whole.

5) Hurricanes

The Bermuda Triangle is located in the so-called "Hurricane Alley" where terrible hurricanes occur every year. Today, it is quite easy to avoid these hurricanes at sea, as sailors constantly keep a close eye on weather forecasts. Hurricanes can be predicted a week or more in advance, so ships will simply not sail into high-risk areas. However, hurricanes can be predicted by modern technology. The mysterious disappearances in the Bermuda Triangle have been talked about since the time of the Spanish and Portuguese conquistadors.

The most unpredictable and most dangerous by-product of a hurricane may be microburst, an unexpected downdraft of air caused by thunderstorm activity. When a stream of air collides with the surface, it diverges in different directions at high speed - more than 270 kilometers per hour, regardless of the strength of the hurricane itself. This air current is capable of uprooting large trees and, of course, can sink any ship. Aircraft can also be affected. Experienced pilots and captains can become victims of microbursts, and if this happens in the Gulf Stream, then the wreckage of a ship or aircraft will go missing.

6) Deviation from the right path

It is generally accepted that the Earth's electromagnetic field has holes. There are a large number of areas on Earth where the compass will not point due north. Naturally, all compasses point to magnetic north: if you travel around the planet, the compass needle will turn towards the magnetic pole, but not show the real north pole. Moreover, compasses can behave very strangely in some parts of the world.

If you head towards the real magnetic north pole, the needle will circle in place, and if you approach the real north or south pole with a compass, it will point in the direction where the magnetic north pole is. In the Altai Mountains near the Gobi Desert, there are magnetic stones that can also knock out the compass needle, which can show the direction to these mountains if you are not too far from them.

Compasses also show the wrong direction in the Bermuda Triangle area. Several thousand sailors, pilots and travelers on ships and planes of various sizes complained that they could not rely on compass readings while in the Bermuda Triangle.

This is an open ocean, so no one knows about any underwater anomalies. The seabed was mapped using sonar. The wreckage of ships or aircraft are not magnets, and therefore are not relevant to compass readings. Whatever the cause of electromagnetic disturbances, compasses are very rarely affected, although there have been reports of needles starting to spin intermittently. It is easy enough to navigate by the sun or stars, provided that they are visible in the sky. Still, the strange behavior of compasses remains a mystery, but it was the cause of only a few disasters.

7) Mascon Gravitational Anomaly

Mascon means mass concentration in the case of gravity. The theory of mascons appeared when people began to explore space. Until the 1970s, scientists believed that mascons only occurred on massive celestial bodies such as the Sun. More is known today. There are positive and negative mascons for every celestial body in the universe. No one knows exactly what causes them, but nowhere are they more pronounced than on the moon.

Astronauts in the 1960s noted noticeable deviations from the orbits of satellites that orbited the Moon, whether they were artificial or natural. These deviations usually coincided with the lunar "seas", for example, the Sea of Tranquility, as well as the largest impact craters. The soil of these seas has been found to be composed of basalt, so they are darker in color and the basalt is much denser than the lighter soil and rocks around them.

When an object in orbit around the Moon passes over these areas, the denser material pulls on it with more gravity than elsewhere. If the gravitational attraction of the Earth is taken by one, then such an attraction on the Moon will be one sixth, on Jupiter - 2.53, and the attraction of a neutron star will have a force of 10-11. The mascons of the Moon are so powerful that not a single satellite can withstand more than 4 years in its orbit without correction. If the position of the satellites is not corrected, they will overcome many maskons until the satellite deorbits and goes into free flight.

You are currently in some kind of mascon, positive or negative, but it is so small in size and density that you may not feel it. For example, the gravitational pull is slightly less in the Swiss Alps than in Paris, France. Gravitational discrepancies are all around us. There is a possibility that small, but incredibly powerful and dense positive mascons are located under the seabed in the area of the Bermuda Triangle. They could affect the movement of ships, if a storm was added to everything, and sink the ship in a couple of seconds. Since air is a much less dense medium than water, the influence of mascons in the air can be much stronger, as we see in the case of moon satellites.

8) Aliens

It is easy to find a mysterious explanation for the already mysterious occurrences. The adventures of strange intelligent beings from other planets or from parallel dimensions immediately come to mind. The disappearances of ships and planes, along with people, were often blamed on aliens who abducted earthlings for various purposes. According to legend, aliens are very interested in people, so they often kidnap someone in the Bermuda Triangle area. Spielberg used this idea in his feature film "Close Encounters of the Third Kind."

With the help of this theory, they tried to explain the mysterious disappearance of the crew of the ghost ship "Mary Celeste", which sailed a few hundred kilometers north of Bermuda, although it was not in the Bermuda Triangle. However, one of the most mysterious disappearances was the disappearance of the ship "Cyclops", an armed military cargo ship that was carrying 11,000 tons of manganese for the needs of the army.

Raw manganese is a non-flammable substance, so if there was an explosion, it was not caused by the cargo. The boiler could explode, from which even such a large ship could sink, but even if it did, the wooden parts of the ship would remain floating on the surface of the water, and the Gulf Stream would carry them north to the East Coast, or to the shores of Bermuda.

The Cyclops left the port of Rio de Janeiro on February 16, 1918, bound for Baltimore, Maryland. It stopped off the Brazilian state of Bahia on 20 February and then Barbados to see if it was overloaded. He was declared safe and seaworthy and sent towards the Bermuda Triangle. On March 4, he disappeared without a trace. Stories of this kind have caused the emergence of a huge number of stories that aliens are kidnapping not only people, but entire ships.

9) Time hole

Some of us may wonder, do we fully understand Einstein's theory of relativity? According to this theory, space and time combine to create one whole. Everything in the universe works on the basis of this space-time, which in essence acts like a canvas suspended by its edges. The most massive objects, such as the Sun, rest on this canvas, pushing it harder than less heavy bodies, such as the Earth. Black holes are holes in this fabric of space-time.

A hole in the space-time continuum, however, may not necessarily be a black hole. Many people call these areas "Einstein-Rosen Bridges" or "Wormholes". The shortest distance between two points in this case is not a straight line, but zero. Such a hole can effectively teleport objects that enter it from point A to point B, regardless of the distance, and points A and B do not necessarily have different locations, but can have the same location, but be at different times. In other words, you can move from Earth to another planet in another star system in an instant, rather than flying for many years at the speed of light. According to the general theory of relativity, superluminal speed is impossible until the laws of physics are violated, and inside the Wormhole, these laws cease to exist.

Since a complete mathematical description of Wormholes has not yet been formulated, it is quite possible that such holes exist in the Bermuda Triangle, although they occur periodically in it, therefore they are able to teleport all objects that appear in it to other places in the Universe, or to the same place, but at a different time.

A similar theory arose thanks to Carolyn Cascio, who disappeared under mysterious circumstances during a flight. She was a veteran pilot and got the opportunity to vacation in the Bahamas. On June 7, 1964, she flew from Nassau to Grand Turk Island, the largest of the Turks with a high population density. There are a large number of houses, high-rise buildings, hotels, an airport on the island, that is, the island is quite civilized, but when Casio got to it, she reported by radio that she was lost. She said that the island was the same shape and size as Grand Turk, but completely devoid of any signs of human presence. It had only forests and deserted beaches.

Her radio messages were received by Grand Turk Airport, which replied that she was on the correct island and that she could land at any time. She replied that she could not find the airport, although she was circling right above it. She did not hear anything that was transmitted to her, although her radiograms were received. After 30 minutes, she decided to go back to where she came from, and no one else saw her, her plane, or her passengers.

Mathematical theories related to how the Wormhole works have not yet been fully described, so until the existence of such a hole in the Bermuda Triangle region is proved, it is too early to say exactly where Casio disappeared. One can only assume that she got to these places, but at a different time, when civilization had not yet arrived there.

10) Sunken Island Atlantis

And finally, the most incredible of all the explanations for the accidents that take place in the Bermuda Triangle.

The Atlantis theory is based on the fact that near the northwest coast of North Bimini Island, about 80 kilometers from Miami, Florida, structures, apparently man-made, were found submerged by water at a depth of 4.5-6 meters. These structures have been named "Dear Bimini" and were discovered by a diver on September 2, 1968. They are made of limestone, have a precise rectangular shape and are stacked together like paving slabs about 800 meters in length. There are two more similar structures between this road and the beach of the island, which are also made of limestone. The blocks are different in size and have a width of 1.8 to 4 meters. The length of these roads is from 45 to 60 meters.

The rectangular shape of most of the blocks, as well as the fact that they are ordered in a row along straight lines, suggests that these structures were created by human hand. The longer road is like a wall that may have surrounded North Bimini. Some suggest that the Bimini Road is the remains of the island of Atlantis that has sunk to the bottom.

Plato suggested that Atlantis existed around 9600 BC, it was more advanced technologically, artistically and politically compared to his native Greece, which at the time of Plato (5-4 centuries BC) was the most developed state on the planet . He wrote that Atlantis was located somewhere in the Gibraltar region and that after a terrible cataclysm, probably a volcanic eruption, in one day the island of Atlantes was wiped off the face of the Earth.

It is possible that somewhere in the Atlantic there once was the aforementioned island, from which the Atlantic Ocean got its name. If Atlantis rests somewhere at its bottom, perhaps its civilization was so technically advanced that it could survive even after diving to a depth of several kilometers. Depth measurements using echolocation did not reveal any anomalies in the Atlantic Ocean in this area. But if the Atlanteans had a very flat island, echolocation equipment might not notice it.

The technology of the Atlanteans could be very advanced, even more than modern, so the inhabitants of Atlantis could protect themselves from water pressure at a depth of 6.5 kilometers, and their descendants could live somewhere underwater in the Bermuda Triangle. The activities of this civilization can disrupt electromagnetic fields, sink ships, make planes crash, and hide their wreckage.

Perhaps everyone knows this place where ships disappear and planes disappear without a trace. And how many expeditions sent to search for the missing liners did not return from this place? Sailors bypass the dead coordinates, and the paths of airliners fly around it for several hundred kilometers. For many years, everyone has been puzzling over the riddle of the Bermuda Triangle, but no answers have yet been found.

The first documented case of the disappearance of people without a trace in the abyss of the Bermuda Triangle is the story of the ship "Rosalia". In 1840, the ship was found off the Bahamas without a single person on board. It was not worth even thinking about pirates - all the valuables that were on the ship were in place. There was no damage whatsoever. Fresh water and provisions were intact ...

When logical explanations for the riddle were not found, it was concluded that the whole team went crazy and decided to jump off the ship into the water. The people dubbed the Rosalia a ghost ship. After this ship, many sea and air liners disappeared in the Bermuda Triangle.

Interesting is the fact that over the years the disappearances have become more and more mysterious. So, in 1918, the cargo ship of the US Navy Cyclops seemed to have disappeared in the air. The Cyclops, bound for the United States from South America, along with the entire crew of over three hundred people on board, was never found. In the event of an emergency, the team could send distress signals, but this did not happen. This meant that something terrible had happened and caught the team by surprise. Subsequently, this will happen with many ships that find themselves within the boundaries of Bermuda.

The mysterious triangle did not stop at watercraft, but decided to “swallow” airships as well. At the end of 1945, 5 torpedo bombers took off from the airfield of the US Navy in Fort Lauderdale. Aces were at the wheel of all airships, there was not a cloud in the sky, and not a wave on the sea. Nothing foreshadowed trouble, but suddenly all the pilots began to fail equipment. This applied to both magnetic instruments and gyroscopic ones. Due to problems with navigation, experienced pilots completely lost their spatial orientation. The last recorded record from the lost bombers was that they were falling into a strange white water that did not look like an ocean.

A search expedition was sent to find the lost squadron, which found no trace, and one of the search seaplanes also mysteriously disappeared, as did the bombers.

A quarter of a century later, an even more mysterious event occurred over the Bermuda Triangle, which strengthened the belief in the anomaly of these places. Bruce Gernon was flying a light single-engine plane that day, carrying two passengers to Florida. Before flying 160 kilometers to Miami, he realized that the weather was noticeably worsening, and decided to go to the coordinates of the Bermuda Triangle from the impending storm. After turning the steering wheel towards the target, he saw that he was moving through some kind of tunnel, and his plane was engulfed in spiral rings. It seemed to the passengers on board that they were plunged into weightlessness. For some time, the plane disappeared from radar, like 5 bombers 25 years ago ... But unlike the missing squadron, its passengers reached their destination. True, it happened in three minutes. How can this be, no one has been able to explain so far.

After this incident, the American public recalled another mysterious story that occurred in 1928. This incident happened to the famous American test pilot Charles Lindbergh, flying over the Bermuda Triangle. His aircraft was suddenly engulfed in dense thick fog. The compass seemed to go crazy, its arrows spinning like crazy. It seemed to Charles that he would not get out of the strange cloud, but his skill brought him out of the strange fog, and he returned to his homeland.

For several decades, the mystery of the Bermuda Triangle has remained unsolved. There are many theories. According to one version, aliens are hiding in the ocean. This hypothesis was put forward by David Spencer, a well-known ufologist. He believes that a colony of aliens is hiding in the depths of the sea, who steal ships and aircraft and their crews. This version was supported by radio amateurs immediately after they caught a strange voice on the radio waves in the conversation of the crew, which broadcast: “Do not follow me!”
It is also interesting that cosmic forces influence, according to fans of this version, not only from the depths of the sea, but also as a result of solar storms. The charged particles then bombard the electronic devices on the ships, and they break.

Another popular version is the involvement of the Bermuda Triangle with the drowned Atlantis. The researchers claim that the whole thing is in a huge crystal that belonged to the ancient Atlanteans, and now it affects the crews of the liners with the help of ultrasound. People go crazy because of it and lose control of their ships, and in some cases decide to throw themselves overboard. In part, the version with ultrasound is supported by scientists.

According to Boris Ostrovsky, a Russian scientist, a researcher of the Bermuda Triangle, the matter is precisely in ultrasound, which adversely affects the mental state of the crews.

There is also a version of the "wandering wave": this hypothesis says that a wave wanders through the sea, reaching a great height, and absorbing ships in its abyss along with people on board. Some scientists are skeptical about such a theory, and some have proven that if several waves converge, a giant wave is formed. And in Bermuda there are all the prerequisites for such wave "convergences".

But how to explain the fact that the disappeared ships cannot be found? This can be explained by the complex bottom topography in the territory of the Bermuda Triangle - in some places the depth of the terrain reaches 8 kilometers in the anomalous zone. It is also worth taking into account the fact that the Gulf Stream passes near the cursed place, which can carry debris and remains hundreds of kilometers from the accident site.

If everything is more or less understandable with water vessels, then what about aircraft? After much deliberation, scientists concluded that methane bubbles could be to blame. In their opinion, methane bubbles accumulate on the ocean floor and periodically rise to the surface. As a result, water vessels instantly sink, and air vessels crash. It turns out that the ocean “swallows” flying and passing ships, which is why they disappear without a trace.

The most inexplicable in the mystery of the Bermuda Triangle is the space-time movement.
Theoretically, this can be a clear proof of Albert Einstein's general and special theory of relativity, on which the building of modern physics rests. That is, the space in this place is curved, and the planes seem to pierce it, falling into a cataclysm of space and time.

But no matter what scientists and ordinary people say, none of the versions has yet been confirmed. Who knows, maybe the solution will be revealed to mankind in 2040, as predicted by the famous science fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke.

This phrase has firmly entered our language as a synonym for mysterious disappearances that cannot be explained. And if the language accepted this phrase as native, then obviously the secret exists. Language always reacts to what is happening in the world. And no matter how much skeptics deny the existence of the Bermuda mystery, the language reminds us that there is a mystery, although scientists do not want to admit this.

Our language equates the Bermuda Triangle with a black hole. A hole, of course, is in space, and a triangle is on the globe, but all the same, these concepts are similar, as the language understands them. But language is a product of our thinking. And if in it both concepts are interconnected, then it is quite likely that at the level of the subcortex we perceive them that way.

Of course, we practically do not know about the physics of black holes, they are far from us, because they are located where no spacecraft has yet reached. But the Bermuda region, which seems to be very close, and no rockets are required to study it, is also very little explored.

To be honest, it has not been studied much, since scientists look at the Bermuda phenomenon with a huge amount of skepticism. There are no, and cannot be, they say, secrets in this part of the ocean. And if ships and planes often disappear there, then they can die everywhere, and the statistics of disappearances here are really no different from other regions of the Earth.

Scientists are lying. They do not want to admit the obvious - in this place, everything is really not as safe as they convince us. Why? Yes, because if some places on the planet are recognized as dangerous, sea and air communications will be disrupted, and this will immediately hit the economy and the income of many companies.

So it turns out that the economy will never allow science to recognize that the sea near Bermuda is an incomprehensible, dangerous place, but not always, but only at times. The trouble is that no one has yet drawn up a timetable for the appearance of danger in Bermuda. We do not know what goes against the rules there, what it is connected with and how it can be resisted. And, by the way, Bermuda is by no means the only such bad place. It's just the most famous.

Bermuda Triangle: what's going on there

What is special about Bermuda? People die there, equipment fails, completely incomprehensible optical and electromagnetic phenomena arise. And by and large, no one has yet been able to explain the causes of such planetary “failures”. This place is strange. Strange, dangerous and at the same time attractive.

You can, of course, pretend that Bermuda is no different from calm waters in the same Atlantic. On the contrary, one can see in Bermuda a manifestation of world evil. But it is much more interesting to try to figure out what strange events in this place can be connected with.

Very few people deal with the Bermuda problem. They are enthusiasts. They are just trying to figure out what is happening in this ill-fated place.

We used to think that physical laws are well known to us, but why then does everything that made Bermuda famous, as if in mockery, reject our laws? Why here, what should fly, falls? What should float, sinks? What is not Earth? Why not Earth? - Earth. But another earth. And the laws we invented only work on Earth from school textbooks. Bermuda is, if you like, a place where other laws are in force, unknown to us and incomprehensible.

Mass destruction of aircraft in Bermuda

How did Bermuda become famous? We can say that the day that made the Bermuda Triangle famous divided time in the minds of mankind into two parts: before Bermuda and after Bermuda. Until this day, we lived in an understandable world, where, of course, accidents and disasters occur, but they can be explained by very real reasons.

After that day, we found ourselves in a world where, as it turned out, events occur that cannot be explained from the point of view of common sense and science. Of course, incidents in this region of the North Atlantic were known before, but there has never been such a strange and contrary to all our experience case.

In addition, the disaster did not occur on the water, but in the air, and not with one aircraft, but with a whole link of military torpedo bombers. And when more than one plane dies, but several at once, and the catastrophe is accompanied by a mass of incomprehensible side events, there is something to think about.

Missing planes in the Bermuda Triangle

In the history of Bermuda, only one case of mass aircraft loss is known, which happened to 5 aircraft of the US Air Force and one rescue aircraft. In that day Bermuda took 6 completely serviceable and defect-free aircraft and 27 human lives.

It was a catastrophe of such proportions that even after 60 years, the memory of the missing pilots was honored in the US Congress with a minute of silence. And if this tragic event is remembered even 60 years later, I think it makes sense for us to know what happened on that day far from us over the azure waters of the Atlantic.

The weather over Bermuda is surprisingly changeable. Therefore, meteorologists refuse to make long-range forecasts. They can only give short-term reports. But on that day, December 5, 1945, the weather was wonderfully sunny. The air was clean and transparent, the sea - extremely calm. Weather reports showed that in the foreseeable future there would be no storms, no thunderstorms, or even ordinary rain.

In Florida, where the US Air Force Base Fort Lauderdale was located, the weather was also wonderful. And the weather reports for Florida did not portend any trouble - a great, just amazing day for flying!

At 1410 hours, the 19th torpedo bomber unit - 5 Avenger aircraft - took off into the cloudless sky. As always, the flight was to have a normal flight. The pilots were faced with a routine task - to go towards the island of Bimini, where the training ground is located, and conduct training firing.

The planes would then return to Florida and follow the coastline just 150 miles to the east and 40 miles to the north. Estimated flight time is 2 hours. They had enough fuel for a longer flight. But the link of torpedo bombers did not reach the training ground. And it never came back again.

Maybe the pilots were newbies? It is this version that is offered to us when they try to reduce all the secrets of Bermuda to the human factor - that is, pilot errors. But the pilots of the 19th flight were not newcomers. As for the flight commander, Lieutenant Charles Taylor, he was an experienced pilot. His experience totaled more than 2500 hours of flight.

Maybe the plane had defects? If we talk about one car, then such an assumption can be justified, but about five at once? According to probability theory, this is a very crazy idea.

The Last Words of Flight Avengers

At 1545 hours, Wing Commander Charles Taylor contacted the control tower at Fort Lauderdale. Records have been preserved with the negotiations of Commander Taylor and the ground service of reference.

"We can't see the ground," Taylor said, embarrassed. "We seem to be off course." - Where are you at? the tower asked.
There was silence for a few minutes. Taylor then reported:
- We're not sure where we are. I repeat: we do not see the earth.

After that, the connection was interrupted. And although they tried to contact the aircraft of the 19th flight from Fort Lauderdale, nothing worked.

Approximately 5 minutes earlier, Lieutenant Robert F. Cox, chief flight instructor at Fort Lauderdale Air Force Base, was flying around the airfield and overheard the conversations of unidentified pilots. On the frequency used by the pilots during training flights, Junior Flight 19 Edward J. Powers, FT-36, was given instructions and asked about instrument readings, finally a voice said:

“I don't know where we are. Obviously we got lost after the last turn." It was FT-28, Wing Commander Charles Taylor, and he said, "I've got both compasses out and I'm trying to find Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The ground is below me, the terrain is rugged. I'm sure it's the Keys, but I don't know how to get to Fort Lauderdale."

Cox immediately advised Taylor to turn the plane so that the sun was on the left, and head for the coast, to Miami, and from there another 20 miles to Fort Lauderdale. They could not talk anymore, because Cox's radio unexpectedly deteriorated.

But Taylor's signal was picked up in Port Everglades, where the naval aviation rescue base was located. It is from the radio communications between Taylor and the Port Everglades base that one can get a picture of the further events that occurred with the 19th air link.

From Taylor's messages, it became clear that the group of aircraft was lost, but it was not possible to understand exactly where. Taylor reported that he did not recognize the area, that everything around, including the ocean, looked strange. Specialists from the Port Everglades base began to work out all possible versions of the reasons that led this group of torpedo bombers to deviate from the course.

One of the main assumptions is the failure of navigation instruments at the leading link, that is, Taylor. Therefore, from the base of Port Everglades, a proposal was received to transfer command of the link to a pilot with functioning navigation instruments. Taylor accepted the offer and immediately gave the order to rebuild. Then the connection was interrupted. It failed to install. So Port Everglades and Fort Lauderdale decided to work together. This is the message that was sent:

"Port Everglades to Fort Lauderdale: Since FT-74 (Cox) has lost contact with FT-28 (Taylor), while continuing south, I believe that the link has lost its way somewhere over the Bahama Bank, and I propose to raise the duty officer into the air an aircraft from Fort Lauderdale Air Force Base with the task of listening to a frequency of 4805 kilohertz; heading 075 degrees (east-northeast), attempt to establish contact with FT-28.

If communication with FT-28 improves as the duty aircraft follows the assigned course, it is safe to say that the link has lost its way over the Bahamas. In addition, the aircraft on duty will be able to act as a relay station, as radio reception from the FT-28 becomes increasingly difficult.

After a while, Taylor again gets in touch. He is faintly heard, but from his transmission it is possible to understand that he seems to be over the Gulf of Mexico. This meant that he was in a completely different place, not where he had previously assumed. Then the connection became very weak. Taylor told his pilots that he saw the ship on the left and if one of the pilots ran out of fuel, then the link would land on the water. The connection is broken.

By phone, Fort Lauderdale contacts Port Everglades. At 1751 hours, all coastal rescue stations were ordered to search for FT-28 and its flight. All bases south of Banana River are on alert #1.

On alarm at the base of Port Everglades, a Martin Mariner rescue aircraft was raised. Other aircraft in the air were ordered to try to contact Taylor.

"Martin Mariner" went the intended course towards the missing link. The rescue aircraft contacted several times, transmitting the usual report: the sea is calm, no traces of the 19th flight were found. At 18:00, we managed to find the location of the 19th link: within a radius of 100 miles from a point with coordinates 29 degrees 15 minutes north latitude 79 degrees 00 minutes west longitude - that is, over the Atlantic Ocean, north of the Bahamas and east of New Smerna, Florida.

But these coordinates turned out to be impossible to transfer to the rescue aircraft - communication with it was lost. On the ground, they decided that the passage of radio waves was disrupted in the search area. Plane after plane took off from the base. They didn't find a single Avenger. Nor did they find the Martin Mariner. The Martin Mariner never made contact again.

The military used every possible means to transfer the correct course to the 19th link, but all attempts were countable. It became clear that the link was missing. In the same way, a well-equipped rescue aircraft, sent in search of Avengers, has sunk forever into obscurity.

Taylor's last words were completely incomprehensible:

It seems like we're like... we're sinking... we're completely lost... we're entering white water...

No planes found in the Bermuda Triangle

For 5 days, ships and planes ransacked all the ocean waters around Bermuda. In this operation, the military involved 300 aircraft and 21 ships, checked all possible areas where the Avengers could crash, including the coast of Florida, the Bahamas and the Florida Keys.

But they found absolutely no trace of the mysterious link. As they did not find traces of the Martin Mariner rescue aircraft. As if 6 aircraft with their crews melted in a clear sky.

This is how the mysterious story of the disappearance of the Avengers and the Martin Mariner flying boat in the area looks like. A special commission was created to investigate the incident, which interviewed many witnesses, checked the records of the negotiations, but could not answer how, where and why 27 servicemen died.

Perhaps the only “achievement” of the commission was that the Bermuda Triangle and its victims were known far beyond the ill-fated area. I immediately remembered other tragedies that happened where they are Bermuda and until the death of the 19th link.

And many different theories have appeared, some completely ridiculous and insane, others more scientific, and still others try to deny the obvious and give the riddle a “mysterious” but clearly politicized meaning.
