To be admitted, you must not only outperform your rivals in a certificate competition, but also pass an internal physical fitness exam with at least 75 points. Test dates: June 25-29 and August 20-24 for full-time applicants, September 15-30 for part-time students. Future part-time students undergo a written test; everyone else will have to show knowledge of the theory of sports and physical education, and then prove themselves in the following exercises:

• standing long jump;
• for boys - pull-ups on the bar;
• for girls - flexion and extension of the arms while lying down;
• short distance running (60 meters - after 9th grade, 100 meters - after 11th grade);
• long distance running (1000 meters).

The Sparta Sports and Pedagogical College was opened in 1988 by order of the Department of Public Education. The educational institution was called General Education School No. 801. In 2008, the educational institution was reorganized and received the name Sparta Sports and Pedagogical College.
