Kelleher said the Institute compared its findings with surveys of triangular and delta craft taken by the Mutual UFO Network and independent researcher Larry Hatch, who has compiled one of the largest UFO databases in the world. After collecting data, the researchers plotted the places where UFOs were seen on a map of the United States.

Kelleher says most sightings follow a general trend: Locations where triangular objects have been seen correlate well with the locations of several U.S. Air Force bases. These bases are tied to an “air corridor” between command bases, Air Force logistics bases and mobile control posts. These data allowed the institute's experts to assume that the unidentified aircraft are ... a unit of the US Air Force.

If triangular aircraft are of entirely terrestrial origin, then what are they? William Scott, a reporter for Aviation Week & Space Technology magazine, has been poring over reports of strange machines for years. He believes that people saw a large, solid-looking aircraft, like a mini-blimp. According to Scott, the Pentagon would not confirm the existence of such an aircraft. After all, new developments are now being prepared for flights: remote piloting machines, reconnaissance drones, and other strange things. There are also commercial proposals to create aircraft that are shaped like the airships of the past. It is assumed that they will be able to carry large loads while moving at high speed.

And these are only unclassified developments. And there are also various innovations in the military industry. I wonder if there will even be room in the sky for real UFOs?

The Roswell incident became one of the most significant mysteries of the 20th century and a favorite plot of fans of all kinds of mysteries, conspiracy theories and alternative histories. At the same time, this event gave rise to such a direction as ufology - that is, the targeted study of evidence on Earth.

1947 Roswell Incident

The immediate event took place on the night of the second to third of July, literally on the eve of the local celebration. Roswell is a very tiny settlement in the state of New Mexico, which even today has only a few tens of thousands of inhabitants. That night, local farmer Mark Brazel witnessed a flash of light in the sky and a loud sound like thunder. Since a thunderstorm had passed before, he did not attach much importance to the event. However, in the morning, having gone out into the field to collect his scattered sheep, the man suddenly discovered strange debris in a vacant lot made of material unfamiliar to him. The farmer told the local sheriff about his discovery. The public was excited. Military men and journalists very soon appeared at the scene of the incident. The first collected remains from the crash of an unknown object, and correspondents quickly made a sensation out of the event, telling the whole world about a UFO in Roswell. This version was confirmed by some local residents, and even US Air Force press officer Walter Hout. However, the very next day the military issued a refutation, explaining that in fact it was just a weather balloon crash. The official explanation seemed quite logical, especially since journalists were allowed to look at the wreckage. They really turned out to be unremarkable. All speculation about the alien origin of the device was attributed to the natural human desire for sensations, and the Roswell incident began to be gradually forgotten.

New sensation

Everything would have remained that way, but already in the 1970s, new witnesses suddenly appeared that it was a flying saucer of extraterrestrial origin that crashed over the town. Major Jesse Marcel was the first to say this in one of his interviews. He claimed that the wreckage shown to journalists in the forties was a fake. And what in fact was actually found there during the autopsy of which the bodies of humanoids were seized. Throughout the state in those years, witnesses began to appear who stated that they had remained silent for many years, but suddenly lost the strength to hide the truth. Now it was impossible to hide the alien invasion, because it had so many eyewitnesses! A film by British director Ray Santilli, released in 1995, added fuel to the fire of rumors. It showed supposedly documentary chronicles of the autopsy of an alien alien who was discovered in a fallen plate. However, the film received a barrage of criticism for obvious lies and falsifications, which were noticeable both to doctors (in matters of the work of pathologists in the video) and to cameramen.

In the mid-nineties, a version was expressed that the Roswell incident could have completely earthly, that is, espionage roots. In the second half of the 1940s, the Cold War began in the world and an active nuclear race was underway. During this period, the Soviet leadership, as part of the Mogul program, developed weather balloons designed to monitor American nuclear tests on their territory. It could be just such a device that eyewitnesses saw in New Mexico.

The Roswell incident remains a mystery

However, this explanation was not to everyone’s taste, since the military’s extraordinary interest in the events of 1947 was obvious. And many supporters of the ufological version doubt that a simple Soviet probe could have caused the commotion. After all, mutual surveillance was not a secret for governments anyway. The next, and so far the last, spice to this mystery was the will of Walter Haught, who died in 2005. The same one who was the first military man to tell the world about aliens in 1947. Now he has stated that he actually saw extraterrestrial beings then. This will is given skepticism by the fact that Hout's daughter at that time worked at the UFO museum open to tourists in Roswell. Roswell UFO Crash

On the evening of July 2, 1947, a luminous disc-shaped object flew over the town of Roswell in New Mexico. 20 miles from the city he crashed to the ground. This is how an American cameraman who identified himself as Jack Barnett, the author of the film about the autopsy of an alien, describes one of the culminating moments of this event.

“In early July 1947, I received an order from the Deputy Commander of Strategic Aviation, General McMullen, to urgently arrive at the crash site of the aircraft southeast of Socorro. My task was to photograph everything I saw. Together with 16 officers, most of whom were medics, we took off from Andrews Air Force Base near Washington, made a stopover at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base to pick up more people and equipment, and then flew on a C-54 to Roswell, where we were loaded into cars and were taken to the scene of the accident.

Afterwards they began to collect the debris, primarily the cooled ones. These appeared to be pieces of brackets that held another small disk to the underside of the object, and which broke off when the disk turned over. There were signs on them that looked like hieroglyphs. The wreckage was taken to the tent for registration, and then loaded into cars. The atmosphere inside the disk was very heavy. After just a few seconds of being there, everyone felt sick. Therefore, they decided to examine him at the base and sent him to Wright-Patterson.”

In addition to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, crashed and captured alien ships are also stored at Lanley Air Force Base, Virginia, and McDipple Air Force Base in Florida. The largest “plate,” 100 feet (30 m) across, was discovered in New Mexico, northeast of the city of Aztec. The second, 72 feet (22 m) in diameter, was found near a secret test site in Arizona. And the third, 36 feet (10.8 m), fell in the Paradise Valley in the same state of Arizona. The third disk contained two dead humanoids, the other two - sixteen each. But whether these were intelligent creatures or robots was anyone’s guess. As one eyewitness put it, “they seem to be people, but at the same time they are not people.” The humanoids were short - an average height of 42 inches (one meter and five centimeters), according to earthly standards - dwarfs. But even with striking external and internal differences, they resembled people. There was also food on their ships - some kind of waffles or biscuits. A liquid resembling water was found in the containers; it turned out to be twice as heavy as earthly liquid. The dead pilots were dressed in tight-fitting overalls without collars, fasteners or buttons. Their bodies were brown, as if charred. The disks contained many objects of unknown purpose, as well as what looked like books or parchment sheets covered with incomprehensible hieroglyphs. The flying disc was made without visible traces of welding or riveting; it seemed entirely cast from a metal similar to aluminum, but much stronger and lighter. The diamond drill left a barely noticeable dent on its surface, and the metal, heated to ten thousand degrees, did not melt. Recent laboratory tests also failed to clarify its nature.

The largest disk was almost undamaged. Apparently he landed using a device similar to our autopilot. But the porthole opened slightly during the fall. One of the buttons on the control panel opened an invisible door. Without coming up with anything more plausible, experts suggested that the disk is driven by magnetic or gravitational thrust. All this research was carried out under the heading "Top Secret UMBRA" - the highest level of secrecy - at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and, since 1955, at a classified test site in Nevada near the dry Groom Lake. However, recently some details of these classified materials have begun to leak out.

Thus, according to computer hacker Matthew Bevan, in the database of one of the Pentagon computers he hacked, he accidentally came across a mention of a secret anti-gravity engine. Having become interested, the hacker further found out that documents on the engine were stored at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Moreover, an experimental prototype of an anti-gravity engine has already been created! An aircraft with such an engine, the documents say, can allegedly reach speeds 15 times the speed of sound.

Bevan recalls that the documents indicated a super-heavy element used as fuel for an anti-gravity engine. Unfortunately, information on the engine was confiscated from the hacker by American investigative authorities. The damage done by the enterprising young man to US security is so great that a Pentagon spokesman called Bevan "the most serious threat to the world since Adolf Hitler."

In the wake of the Roswell events, retired American Army Colonel Philip Corso co-authored with W. Burns the book “The Day After Roswell.” For the first time in the history of ufology, a colonel confirmed under oath the facts he described in this book. In an affidavit submitted to the American court, Corso once again described his participation in studying the wreckage of an alien craft. According to him, in 1947 he saw with his own eyes the corpses of UFO crew members, and later, in 1961, he became acquainted with the official autopsy reports. Corso's testimony was the most serious allegation to date of the US Defense Department's cover-up of the Roswell event. The case was opened on March 25, 1998 with the aim of achieving the publication of classified data. After Corso's statement, the Phoenix County Court sent a request to the Ministry of Defense for documents, the existence of which the colonel confirmed under oath. Moreover, Corso argues that the incomprehensible breakthrough of the USA, Japan, Germany, Canada, England, and the USSR after the Second World War in the field of new technologies is explained by the undoubted borrowing of similar samples from UFOs that crashed on their territories (English ufologists Janet and Colin Board in their The book “Life Beyond Earth” counted 28 UFO accidents in these countries and 102 selected “pilots” only for 1942–1978!).

The first witness who found the courage to give his name was counterintelligence colonel of the 509th Bomber Regiment in Roswell, Jose Marcel. He was one of the first officers (and this was part of his duties) to immediately arrive at the scene of the accident. In 1979, in an interview, Marcel firmly stated: “It was not a balloon” (as the commander of the 8th Aviation Brigade, General Rojay Romay, demanded to indicate in the reports). And further: “The selected segments of the substance weighed almost nothing and were no thicker than foil. When I tried to bend it, it didn't bend. Then we tried to punch a hole in it using an 8-kilogram sledgehammer. However, nothing worked - the material did not give in.”

It is difficult to imagine that a person with such training and qualifications as J. Marcel, moreover, a counterintelligence officer of the only air regiment at that time armed with atomic bombs, could confuse a weather balloon with another aircraft. His conclusion boiled down to one thing: “These are the remaining parts of the hull of unearthly origin.” There is no doubt about the qualifications of this witness because he later participated in the preparation of a secret report on the first atomic explosion in the Soviet Union, which went straight to the desk of US President Henry Truman. In those early days, journalist James B. Johnson took photographs of General Roger Romay announcing at a press conference on July 8, 1947, that a weather balloon had fallen near Roswell. In these photographs, General Romay is holding a piece of paper with some text in his hands. An official request from journalists about the content of this text was answered by a representative of the US Air Force: “The quality of the photographs did not allow us to make out the content of the text on a sheet of paper.” However, ufologists obtained the original negatives of these photographs from 50 years ago and printed large-format photographs. Two independent teams of researchers transcribed what was written on the paper. The transcripts were almost identical. It turned out that the text contained strange phrases. For example, “Emergency response forces are needed on site,” “Show those who wish to see the “junk” from the weather balloon.”

Other fragments of phrases are also intriguing. In particular, the word “victims”. Ufologists regard the analysis of old photographs as new evidence of the reality of the disaster in Roswell. And in 1990, General Arthur E. Exon spoke up, who at that memorable time, as a lieutenant, participated in testing the materials of parts of the collapsed apparatus at the Wright Field laboratory in Ohio. According to him, all kinds of experiments were carried out: chemical analyses, tensile testing, compression, bending... All the specialists who took part in them single-handedly concluded that these materials were not of earthly origin. In 1992, before his death, General Thomas de Boss admitted that in 1947, at the air base of the 8th Brigade in Texas, he personally accepted General McMillan's order by telephone to conceal the fact of the “fall of the saucer.” The instructions asked General Romei to come up with “reasons for the cover-up so that the press would leave us behind.” Glen Dennis' testimony also raises little doubt. He still lives in the Roswell area. A respectable businessman and member of the commune, he is not given to inventions. In those distant times, Glen, still a very young man, worked in a morgue. This facility had a contract with the US Air Force to provide first aid in the processing of corpses. Even before he learned about the secrets of the crashed “saucer,” an officer in charge of funeral issues called him from the aviation unit and asked how best to preserve the body, which had been exposed to open atmospheric conditions for several days.

After finishing his collaboration with the military, Obert moved to NASA, where he spent many years researching the UFO phenomenon. In the 80s, Professor Obert made an official statement in which he acknowledged the existence of UFOs. According to him, “flying saucers” are indeed spaceships from other solar systems. Presumably they have crews whose task is to study earthly life. This research has been going on for thousands of years. NASA and American experts, Obert emphasizes, have direct evidence of UFO visits. Recently, industrial centers, nuclear enterprises, large military factories, air bases and testing grounds have become objects of close observation of alien ships (in the state of New Mexico alone, where the most UFO accidents have occurred, there are five air bases, a nuclear center and a testing ground). Today, the interest of UFOs in strategic objects is seriously worrying the top leadership of the United States. American (and other intelligence agencies) take absolutely everything from the sites of accidents and disasters, even removing the top layer of soil for further sifting in laboratory conditions. So there are practically no witnesses left (project “Moon Dust”). However, American experts - Dr. Russell Vernon Clark, a chemist from the University of California, and his colleagues examined a small sample of an unknown material. In 1995, ufologist Derred Sims received a call from an unknown person. Saying that he had a fragment of an alien spaceship that crashed in Roswell in 1947, he proposed to meet. A fragment measuring 2.5? 3.5? 1.5 centimeters had distortions on the surface and traces of exposure to ultra-high temperatures. Sims turned to specialists. Its full research took a year and a half. Scientists came to a firm conclusion about the artificial origin of the fragment and about its extraterrestrial nature, since it consisted of a set of elements unusual for the Earth. In particular, Dr. Clark noted the anomalous content of carbon isotopes in the sample. A similar anomaly was detected in the content of nickel, silicon and germanium. An optical spectroscopy study also confirmed the artificial origin of the fragment.

At the end of the 50s. A certain Norma Gardner, a cancer patient, settled in Price Hill, near Cincinnati. A young man, Charles Wilhelm, looked after her. Shortly before his death, with the words “Now Uncle Sam won’t get me, I’ve already got one foot in the grave!” - She admitted to Charles that she had previously worked at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and had access to classified materials, she was tasked with keeping an inventory of items related to UFOs. The Pentagon has tasked the US Air Force with collecting UFO information since August 1947, and has been responsible for this to the present day. A number of projects appeared - “Blue Book” (the longest of them – 1952–1969), “Sain”, “Graj”, “Sigma”, “Snowbird”, “Aquarius”, “Moon Dust”, etc. For example , project “Moon Dust” - technological research, localization, collection and removal of UFOs from the site of their crash or landing. All these projects served as a cover for other, even more secretive units led by the Majestic 12 group.

Operation Majestic 12 was authorized by President Truman on September 24, 1947, on the recommendation of Secretary of Defense James Forrestal and Dr. Vannevar Bush. The task of the Majestic-12 group included:

1. Discovery and removal of all materials and parts of foreign or extraterrestrial origin for scientific study. The materials must become the property of this particular group at any cost.

2. Detection and taking control of all creatures of alien origin or their remains for the purpose of scientific study.

3. Creation of a special team to carry out the above activities.

4. Creation of special security services in secret areas of the continental United States. Storage and scientific research of all materials, as well as maintenance and control of creatures whose origin experts qualify as alien.

5. Development and conduct of secret operations together with the CIA to deliver technological equipment and creatures of extraterrestrial origin from the territories of other states to the United States.

6. Maintaining the strictest secrecy regarding all of the above activities.

Later it was indicated that the degree of secrecy should be two levels higher than the “top secret” stamp. The reason for this was fears that information about UFOs would cause an unwanted resonance among the public and, in addition, would contribute to the strengthening of a hostile power (the USSR). The notorious Janar-146 - a secret circular of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Army, Navy and Air Force - describes the procedure for filing UFO reports. Disclosure by military personnel of any information about them was equivalent to disclosure of state secrets (from one to ten years in prison and ten thousand dollars in fine). To carry out the broad tasks of the M-12 group, an elite unit of the US Air Force was trained - the 4602nd Technical Information Service Division. The results of his research are sent directly to the Air Force intelligence department. It was this division that, at the beginning of its activities, delivered “material evidence” from the disaster area to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Subsequently, for secrecy purposes, the division's digital designation was repeatedly changed. It is currently listed as the 512th Air Force Intelligence and Counterintelligence Group. Its location is Fort Belvoir, Virginia.

According to computer company president Jack Shulman, he and his colleagues stumbled upon documentary evidence of the existence of another secret organization within the US Department of Defense called the Office of Extraterrestrial Affairs, or E-2 for short. Officially it does not exist. Only a limited circle of people who had to deal with this organization know about it. However, as Shulman said, some senior officials at the Pentagon indirectly confirmed its existence. There is no information about the tasks and goals of the organization, but it is assumed that its main task was to study crashed UFOs.

One of the secret documents of this direction was revealed by professional counterintelligence officer Bob Dean. This is what preceded it. In 1961, NATO Air Marshal Thomas Pike ordered the creation of a secret group to study the nature of UFOs and assess their potential threat. In May 1963, Bob Dean was invited to the group. In Vietnam and Korea he served in special forces units. Necessity forced us to turn to this specialist for help: valuable documents on the UFO problem disappeared, and two employees disappeared under unclear circumstances. Arriving at the group, Bob familiarized himself with the documents labeled “Top Secret.” It was a weighty volume with many illustrations, graphs and figures - the fruit of the group's careful work over two years. And although the secrecy has not yet been removed, Bob Dean took it upon himself to violate state secrets and publish some excerpts from it:

1. Planet Earth is the object of intense and massive surveillance by several alien civilizations. Their technology is thousands of years ahead of Earth's.

2. The sequence of observations and the fact that they have been carried out over several thousand years shows the presence of a plan or program.

3. Military intelligence data indicate that there is no immediate threat from alien civilizations to invade or seize the Earth. However, some facts indicate their potential to interfere in government affairs.

In the mid-sixties, all leaders of NATO member states received copies of this document. In the mid-1970s. At the bottom of the ship there was an oval door measuring 1x0.75 m. No landing devices were found. Inside there are double seats and instrumentation on the walls. The body of a 1.2 m tall pilot wearing a silver jumpsuit was discovered.

In 1962, a UFO with a diameter of 22 m and a height of 4 m crash-landed near Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico. According to the radar control service, the landing occurred at a speed of 90 miles per hour. The bodies of two 1.1 m tall pilots wearing silver overalls were found on board.

On December 10, 1964, at 2 a.m., an operation began to conduct a preliminary examination of a UFO discovered on the territory of Fort Riley, Kansas. There were no pilots on board. In 1966, in the Arizona desert, a military unit conducting a training exercise saw a group of pilots near a landing UFO. In a short fight, one of the pilots was detained and died after receiving an injection.

In 1968, a large UFO hovered over Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada, for three days, and on three occasions smaller aircraft separated from the main craft. One of the smaller UFOs landed on the territory of the air base, armed security units led by a colonel, approaching, saw the pilot - short in stature, but stocky. Realizing the unit's intentions, the pilot pulled out some kind of beam device and aimed it at the colonel, who fell paralyzed.

According to a former intelligence officer, the bodies of more than 30 UFO pilots are frozen at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. According to his testimony, in the period from 1966 to 1968. 5 UFOs crashed in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. Crashed or captured alien ships are stored in addition to Wright Patterson Air Force Base at Langley Air Force Base and Mac Dill Air Force Base. According to eyewitnesses' descriptions, the disc-shaped UFO pilots look like this: height about 1.2 m, head and torso disproportionate, eyes wide-set and slightly narrowed, eyeballs large and sunken, and instead of a nose there is a small bulge with one or two holes, instead of a mouth there is a small hole, which apparently does not serve for voice communication or eating. There is no information about the teeth, there are small depressions instead of ears, there is no hair on the head or there is a small fluff, there is no information about the brain. The arms are long and thin, reaching the knees when lowered, the hands have four fingers, between which there is a leathery membrane, and there are no genitals. There is blood, but it is not blood in the usual sense of the word, the skin is gray, the neck is thin, often not visible because of the clothes. Body weight is about 18 kg.

But, apparently, the main part of the UFO pilots did not fall into the hands of the “hospitable” American military, as the following information speaks quite eloquently about. From a confidential report from the Italian Ministry of Defense: “On June 22, 1976, at 21.30, hundreds of eyewitnesses observed a UFO over Gran Canaria in the form of a luminous light blue ball with a diameter of approximately 30 m. Some parts of the ball had a yellowish glow. Observers saw in the lower part of the ball, at a distance of approximately 1/3 of the diameter from the lower cut, a long horizontal platform of metallic color, from which three aluminum-colored consoles extended.

On the right and left sides of the middle console, two people 2.5-3 m tall stood face to face. What was striking was that their bodies were relatively flat, without a prominent chest, and elongated. They had long arms and short legs and were dressed in red robes, so bright that their color caused pain in the eyes. The facial features were indistinguishable, perhaps due to the helmets on their heads. Next to the left creature, a vertical “glass” pipe filled with bluish smoke was visible. The UFO later departed towards Santa Cruz, Tenerife.

Also eloquent is the incident in England on November 28, 1980. In the area of ​​Todmoden, West Yorkshire, where police officer Alan Godfrey was taken on board a UFO and subjected to medical examination. He was examined by small creatures with lamp-shaped heads and the size of a five-year-old child, but nearby was a bearded humanoid creature, presumably in charge of the matter. This creature even had a name - Joseph.

It would be surprising if extraterrestrial ships fell exclusively on US territory, bypassing the one-sixth of the globe occupied by the Soviet Union. The next “duck,” perhaps, was T. Werner’s article “The Russians captured a UFO,” “which crashed in Zhigansk on the banks of the Lena in Northwestern Siberia.” For greater reliability, it is reported that the information was published “through secret connections in Russia.” There are, of course, the corpses of pilots who “were transported by plane to Moscow State University for autopsy and study.”

Preface

The name Roswell is associated with many mysterious phenomena: aliens, the image of a crashed UFO, secret government investigations, charred bodies, the wreckage of an interplanetary spacecraft, a weather balloon and much more.

In the entire history of UFO sightings, no case has received such worldwide attention as the events in Roswell in 1947. The alleged crash of a flying saucer was widely covered in the media at the time, and is one of the most frequently discussed incidents today.

So many books and articles have been written about Roswell that it would seem that there is nothing to add, but every ufologist necessarily expresses his point of view on this significant event. The Roswell incident is a stumbling block for all UFO researchers. This case includes everything imaginable: the fall of a certain flying object, numerous testimonies of people who held the wreckage of the device in their hands, the classification of facts by the government and the largest list of witnesses to the incident - more than 500 people.

Oddly enough, interest in the supposed disaster initially faded as quickly as it flared up. Many years later, UFO fans and researchers again raised this issue and the search for truth, debate, and commentary resumed.

Most of us know that the Roswell newspapers and other publications in 1947 reported the hijacking of a flying saucer. A few hours later, information about the UFO crash was replaced by news about the landing of a weather balloon. At that time, the population's trust in the media, and especially with reference to official sources, was at such a high level that this refutation was taken for granted. The excitement around the incident quickly died down. But, fortunately, it was revived again in 1976 and continues to this day.

In January 1976, ufologists William Moore and Stanton R. Friedman worked on an article based on interviews with two witnesses to the incident. Friedman met with a man and a woman who were among the main eyewitnesses to the events in Corona, New Mexico in 1947.

Retired Air Force officer, Major Jesse A. Marcel claimed that, by order of the command, he was directly involved in the investigation of the UFO crash.

The witness was Lydia Sleppi, who worked at a radio station in Albuquerque. She claimed that the armed forces had classified information about the crashed saucer and the bodies of the “little people” who were on board. In addition, according to her, BBC employees literally stopped sending the news message on the air at the last minutes. The US Air Force announced to the world that it had captured a flying saucer at a remote ranch in Corona, and about four hours later corrected the story to say that the find was just a weather balloon with a radar reflector.

There are two interpretations of this incident. Which one is true? Skeptics continue to press the weather balloon landing theory, but as long as there are witnesses to challenge this explanation, the investigation must continue.

The Roswell incident is not mentioned in the Bluebook archives. The news of the UFO crash was immediately refuted and therefore quickly forgotten. The only one who used and propagated this information in his lectures was the enthusiast Frank Edward (mid-50s). Apparently, from the very beginning, supporters of the alien version tried to perpetuate this great story.

The secret becomes clear

On June 24, 1947, the name "flying saucer" was coined by pilot Kenneth Arnold. He used this term to describe the UFO that flew over Reiner. A few weeks later, the phrase was being used by the Air Force to describe an object that was found in Corona, New Mexico.

All evidence from the site of the alleged UFO crash was collected and transported to Air Force Headquarters in Fort Worth, Texas. In some incredible way, the debris carried by Jesse Marcel, who described the cargo as “material of extraterrestrial origin,” upon arrival at the Air Force base turned into fragments of an ordinary weather balloon. All eyewitness testimony was deleted, and those who continued to insist on the version of the crash of an alien ship were declared fictitious. Marcel categorically stated that the debris that he saw, held and showed to his family members was not the same that was presented to the public in photographs called “weather balloon debris.” What happened to the real physical evidence?

There is a rather controversial document dated November 18, 1952, which may lift the veil of secrecy. Possibly the author of this letter was Dwight Eisenhower, it reported that on September 24, 1947, President Harry S. Truman ordered the top-secret Operation Majestic 12 to study the remains of the Roswell UFO crash. This typewritten piece of paper arrived in a plain envelope postmarked Albuquerque to Los Angeles television producer Jaime Shander in December 1984. In early 1987. another copy of this letter was given to Timothy Goode, a British ufologist. Goode revealed it to the local press in May.

These documents caused quite a stir, but their authenticity, unfortunately, has not been established. No examination of these documents was carried out, and many ufologists are inclined to believe that these papers are falsifications. The authenticity of one piece of evidence is not that important because there is so much other evidence out there.

Roswell Saga

Part 1: Mac Brazel's Testimony

It actually all started in Silver City, New Mexico on June 25th. The dentist reported that he observed a UFO in the shape of a plate and the size of half the moon.

Two days later in New Mexico, W. C. Dobbs reported a white, luminous object flying overhead near the White Sands Missile Range. That same day, Captain E. B. Dechmendi reported to his commander that he saw a white, flaming UFO flying over the missile launchers. Two days later, on June 29, military engineer K. J. Sohn and three of his subordinates were at White Sands and observed a giant silver disk moving north across the wasteland. On July 2, a UFO was spotted in three communities: White Sands, Roswell and Alamogordo. In Roswell, on the same day, the Wilmot couple saw a flying object. They described it as “2 upside down plates sitting on top of each other.” A UFO flew over their house at high speed.

Mac Brazel is the owner of the ranch where the amazing events of Roseaull began on either July 2 or July 4 (not known for certain).

Mac could not even imagine that day that his name would be forever inscribed in the history of ufology. An ordinary working man, he lived on his ranch, Foster Place, in Lincoln County, near Corona, New Mexico. Brazel was a family man, but his wife and children lived in Tularosa, near Alamogordo. The reason for the family separation was that the schools in Tularosa were better than in Corona. Brazel remained in the old ranch house, where he cared for the sheep and tended to the day-to-day operations of the farm. He lived simply and was happy with his work, family and life in general. Within a short period of time, Mack was the center of everyone's attention and subsequently greatly regretted reporting his discovery.

The night before there was a severe thunderstorm. Everything around was illuminated by flashes of lightning, and thunder rumbled. Summer thunderstorms are a common occurrence in the area, but that evening the farmer noticed something special...a sound like an explosion mixed with thunder. Mac was in the house with his children and at first did not pay much attention to the strange sounds.

The next day, as soon as it bloomed, Brazel went to look for the sheep that had gone outside the fence during a thunderstorm and gotten lost. A neighbor's seven-year-old boy, William D. Proctor, tagged along with him. They soon came to a vacant lot a quarter of a mile long and several hundred feet wide, which was strewn with debris of various shapes. Each piece was made from a material the farmer had never seen before. Soon he found the sheep and returned home. Mack also brought some strange debris with him and put them in the barn. Brazel had no idea of ​​the significance of his find.

His daughter Bessie Brazel recalled: “The pieces were like wax paper, but made of aluminum foil. On some of the fragments there were inscriptions that looked like numbers, but there was not a single word that we could read; on some parts of this foil there were, as it were, woven ribbons and when we brought them to the light, they became like flowers or patterns. They could not be erased or washed off from this material.”

“The inscriptions looked like numbers, at least it seemed to me that they were numbers. They were written in a column, as if solving a complex problem. But they didn't look like the numbers we use. Apparently, it seemed to me that these were numbers because they were written in a column.”

“No, it definitely wasn’t a weather balloon. We saw many meteorological apparatuses, both on the ground and in the sky. We even found a few of these made in Japan. This was a completely different material that we had not encountered either before or after...”

That afternoon, Mac drove young Dee Proctor home to a neighbor who lived ten miles from the ranch. He took one of the fragments with him and showed it to the boy’s parents, Floyd and Loretta. The farmer wanted to convince the Proctors to return with him and look at the strange discovery in the wasteland.

Floyd Proctor later recounted their conversation: “He (Mac) said it wasn’t paper. He tried to cut the material with a knife, and nothing came of it, it was metal, but such as he had never seen before. Looks like a firework wrapper. It seems to depict numbers, but they are not written the way we write them.”

Loretta Proctor recalled: “The shard he brought was like brown, even light brown plastic, it was very light, like balsa wood. The object was small in size, approximately 4 inches long, slightly larger than a pencil."

“We tried to cut it, then set it on fire, but it didn’t burn. We realized that this is not wood. The fragment was smooth, like plastic, there were no rough spots on it. Color: dark tan. Not grainy – just smooth.”

“We had to go there (to look at the wreckage), but gas and tires were expensive in those days, and it was 20 miles there and back.”

The first suspicion that the debris might be from “another world” arose the next evening from Mac’s uncle, Hollis Wilson. The farmer told Wilson about his discovery, and Wilson convinced him to go to the authorities. My uncle had already heard reports of “flying saucers” in the area.

Brazel loaded the wreckage into a pickup truck and drove to Chaves County Sheriff George Wilcox's office. The sheriff was not very interested in the farmer's story until he saw the mysterious findings.

Wilcox contacted Air Force officials and spoke with Major Jesse A. Marcel, who was then the chief intelligence officer. The officer told the sheriff he would come and talk to Brazel about his discovery.

Rumors quickly spread among the local population. Soon Mack was talking on the phone about everything he knew to reporters from radio station KGFL.

Marcel and Brazel met at the sheriff's office. The farmer told the major his story again and showed the wreckage. He, in turn, reported the results of his trip to Colonel William H. Blanchard. As a result, it was decided to order an internal investigation and inspect the scene of the incident. Marcel was to go there, accompanied by intelligence officer Sheridan Cavitt. The time was already too late, and therefore all three remained at Mack's ranch until the morning. At dawn, the whole group had breakfast and went to the accident site. Mac walked Marcel and Cavitt to the vacant lot, and he returned to work around the house.

KGFL radio reporter Frank Joyce was updating his boss Walt Whitmore Sr. on recent events. Whitmore immediately went to Brazel's house, where he recorded an interview that will never be made public. Under pressure from the armed forces, the correspondents abandoned the idea of ​​broadcasting the recording. The next day, the farmer was taken to the Roswell military base. Mac was a “guest” at the Air Force base for about a week. On July 8, Brazel returned and later participated in a press conference for the Roswell Daily Record, where he again told his story, only it sounded a little different.

Mak stated that he and his son discovered the wreckage on June 14, but due to his busy schedule, he did not attach any importance to his discovery. A few weeks later, on the Fourth of July, he went to a vacant lot with his wife and two children and collected several samples. Among the debris were gray strips that looked like foil, only thicker, and small wooden sticks. The farmer further stated that he had found weather balloons several times, but that these pieces of debris were completely different from other finds.

"I'm sure what I found wasn't a weather balloon," he said.

“If I find anything else, even a bomb, I won’t tell anyone.”

Accompanied by military personnel, Mack was taken to the KGFL editorial office. The farmer answered questions from reporters, but when he left the editorial office, according to his friends, he looked confused and looked at the ground. Brazel told Frank Joyce the same story as at the press conference. Joyce was shocked by the sudden change in the details of the story, and interrupted the farmer, asking why he changed his story. Mac replied: “This is all very difficult for me.”

After this interview, the farmer was again taken to a military base. After his final release, Mac did not want to discuss the findings from the vacant lot with anyone. Those close to him said that he complained of cruel treatment by the military. He was not allowed to call his wife while on base. The farmer confided to his children that he had taken an oath, vowing never to discuss the details of the wreck.

Within a year of everything that happened, Mac moved from the ranch he loved so much to the city of Tularosa, where he opened his own small business. Brazel died in 1963.

Part 2: Testimony of Jesse A. Marcel

Major Jesse A. Marcel was the intelligence officer at Roswell Air Force Base, which housed the bomber squadrons at the time. It should be noted that all base personnel had a high security clearance. Marcel was a veteran who was completely trusted by the command. He was a highly skilled cartographer before World War II and was assigned to a reconnaissance unit due to his excellent service. At one time he even worked as an instructor at the school. His service record included more than 450 hours of combat duty as a pilot during the war. Marcel was awarded five medals for destroying enemy aircraft. After the end of the war, he was assigned to serve in the reconnaissance section of the 509th Bomber Wing of the US Eighth Air Force, where nuclear tests were conducted in 1946.

Marcel was on his lunch break when he received a phone call from Sheriff Wilcox. The sheriff informed him that rancher Mac Brazel had found debris from an unknown object crash on the sheep ranch. The major immediately went to the city and talked with Brazel, reporting the results of the conversation to Colonel Blanchard. Marcel was given orders to go to the scene with Sheridan Cavitt. Arriving at the ranch too late, the officers spent the night at Brazel's house and went to the scene of the accident in the morning.

The major later described what he found at the crash site: “When we arrived at the scene of the disaster, we were surprised by the scale of the accident.”

"... These fragments were scattered over an area about three-quarters of a mile long, I would say, and several hundred feet wide."

“It was definitely not a weather balloon or tracking device, nor was it an airplane or a missile.”

“I don’t know what it was, but certainly not a device we built, and certainly not a weather balloon.”

“Small pieces, about three-eighths or one and a half square inches in size, with some kind of hieroglyphs that no one could decipher. They looked like balsa wood and were about the same weight, only it was not wood at all. They were very dense, flexible and did not burn at all. There was a lot of unusual substance, brown in color, very dense. Lots of small pieces of metal that look like foil. I was interested in electronics. I was looking for some tools or electronic equipment, but I couldn't find anything."

“...Kavitt found a black, metal box several inches in size. They couldn't open it; it seemed like it was some kind of equipment. We took it away with the rest of the wreckage.”

“On them (the wreckage) there were small numbers, symbols, possibly hieroglyphs, I could not understand them. They were pink and purple. They seemed to be written on the surface. I even took a lighter and tried to burn the material, but it turned out that the parchment did not burn or even smoke.”

“...the pieces of metal we brought were as thin as the foil in a pack of cigarettes.”

“...you could neither rip it nor cut it. We tried to make a dent on it by hitting it with a sledgehammer, but there was no dent left.”

Marcel sent Cavitt to the base with a jeep full of mysterious material. He himself took his Buick and drove home to show his wife and son the amazing find.

Dr. Jesse Marcel Jr. (Marcel's son): “The material was like foil, very thin, strong, but not metal. It was structural - ... rays and so on. There was also dark plastic that seemed organic.”

“There were hieroglyphic-type marks along the edges of some of the debris.”

Marcel returned to base and received orders from Colonel Blanchard to load the wreckage onto a B-29 and fly it to Wright Field in Ohio, stopping at Carswell AFB in Fort Worth, Texas. The military was completely absorbed in work at Roselle.

Colonel Walter Hauth received orders from Colonel Blanchard to write a press release announcing the capture of a "crashed flying saucer."

According to Hoth, the saucer was transported to the 8th Air Force Wing for delivery to General Ramey.

Khot fulfilled his duties and wrote a press release, copies of which, by order, were distributed to two editorial offices of radio stations and newspapers.

So articles appeared in newspapers entitled: “A flying saucer was captured by the Air Force at a ranch near Roswell.”

When Marcel arrived in Carswell, General Roger Ramey took control of the matter. The wreckage was carried to the general's office and photographed. Photographed by James Bond Johnson. One of the photos showed Marcel with real debris. Raimi took Marcel to another office, and when they returned, completely different fragments were already lying on the floor. The major had to confirm that the debris was from a weather balloon. Photos were taken again. Marcel was sent back to Roswell, with strict warnings not to reveal what he had seen in Carswell.

Then a message came that General Ramey confirmed the origin of the debris and it was nothing more than a weather balloon.

General Thomas Dubose, the Air Force chief of staff, said after years of silence: “It was a cover-up, we were ordered to let the public know that it was a weather balloon.”

There can be no doubt that the orders to cover the flying saucer came from the chief executive.

Marcel was stunned upon arriving home and learning that he had become a laughing stock. He seemed to have confused an ordinary weather balloon with “alien matter.” However, three months later, Marcel was promoted to lieutenant colonel and head of the new program.

He was interviewed in 1978 and still maintained that the debris at the Foster Ranch was definitely not from a weather balloon. This was material he had never encountered before.

Part 3: Other Evidence

In the first parts, 2 hypotheses about the origin of the mysterious debris in Roselle were considered. To continue our search for facts, we move on to a new location - San Augustine, near Magdalena, New Mexico.

This story is based on the testimony of Verna and Jean Maltais. The couple stated that in February 1950. their friend engineer Grady L. "Barney" Barnett told them that while working in the areas near Magdalena, on July 3, 1947. came across a broken disk-shaped object. The bodies of unearthly creatures were scattered near the flying disk. They were both inside and outside the ship. Jean stated that she kept a diary and wrote down the date of the events described - July 3, 1947. This may not mean anything, there may have been a mistake or the date was mixed up.

Following the airing of the "Roswell Crash" segment on the popular show Unsolved Mysteries in 1990, Gerald Anderson made a fascinating statement. Anderson claimed that he was hunting with his family on the San Augustine Plains in early July 1947 when he came across a crashed saucer-shaped apparatus. There were four dead aliens in the ship. Although Gerald was only six years old, he remembered this incident for the rest of his life. Further, Dr. Buskirk and five of his students also reported coming across the crash site. There's something strange about Anderson's story. Dr. Buskirk was Anderson's teacher. Reports indicate that the doctor was in Arizona at the time of the alleged UFO crash.

It is quite possible that a UFO crash near Roswell did happen. The testimony of Mortican Glenn Dennis and Captain Oliver Wendell Henderson supports this assumption. The actions of the armed forces can tell us a lot. Locking down and cordoning off every iota of debris in the area wouldn't make sense if it was just a weather balloon. Great importance must be attached to Marcel's testimony. He states that the debris was not fragments of a weather balloon. He also claims that the debris he brought from the scene was not the same as what was published in the newspaper photographs.

To be fair, it should be noted that many of the testimonies were not first-hand information. These stories may differ greatly from the original source. But there are also eyewitness accounts. If their stories are true, then this large group of people perpetuated one of the best organized conspiracies of the last century. Maybe the truth is out there somewhere. Is there a way to combine different versions into one true algorithm for the development of events of those years in Roswell?

Aliens

There were many rumors about "little men". Some claim that there were three of them, others that there were four, and there are those who voice the number - five dead. Let's try to figure it out based on testimony.

Ray Danzer was a mechanic who worked at the Roswell base. He was standing outside the emergency room when he saw alien bodies being brought into the hospital on stretchers. Ray was stunned and was brought back to reality by FSB officers who asked him to leave and forget everything he had seen.

Steve McKenzie saw four bodies around the crashed UFO. He said another one was out of sight.

Major Edwin Isley, an FSB officer, took part in cordoning off the crash site. He told his family that he promised the President that he would never talk about what he saw that day.

Herbert Ellis, an employee at Roswell Air Force Base, reported seeing an alien "walking" through the Roswell military hospital.

Edwin Easley Mary Bush, who was the hospital administrator, told Glenn Dennis that she saw "alien creatures." Two doctors needed help in the ward where three “alien” bodies were being examined. She was choking on the smell of decaying bodies, but she definitely remembered that the aliens had 4 fingers on their hands.
