The Kharkov Institute of Banking UBS NBU was founded in May 1944 as the Kharkov Regional Credit College of the State Bank of the USSR. October 15, 1992, according to the order of the National Bank of Ukraine No. 64 in connection with a change in the profile of specialist training educational institution was renamed the Kharkov College of Banking. In 1996, the technical school received the status of a banking college, which, on September 1, 2000, was reorganized into the Kharkov branch of the Ukrainian Academy of Banking of the National Bank of Ukraine. Kharkov Banking Institute is a state educational institution, which, according to the license of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated December 8, 2005, series AB No. 298203, provides educational services related to receiving higher education at the level of qualification requirements for bachelor, specialist, master of training direction 0501 "Economics and Entrepreneurship" in the specialties "Banking", "Finance", "Accounting and Audit".

According to the decision of the DAK dated June 4, 2002, protocol No. 39, the Kharkov Banking Institute was recognized as accredited at the III level of the direction "Economics and Entrepreneurship", specialty 7.050105 "Banking".

According to the decision of the DAK dated June 22, 2006, protocol No. 61, the institute is recognized as accredited from the direction of training "Economics and Entrepreneurship" of the educational qualification level "Bachelor" of the specialty "Banking", as well as major - qualification levels"Specialist", "Master" in the specialty "Finance" and the "Master" level in the specialty "Banking".

On the basis of the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine from June 15, 2006 No. 331-r and the Order of the Board of the National Bank of Ukraine from July 14, 2006 No. 265, the University of Banking was created in Kiev, which included educational institutions of the National Bank of Ukraine, including Kharkov Banking Institute, which was reorganized into the Kharkov Institute of Banking.

Since 2001, in accordance with the obtained licenses, the institute has been carrying out retraining with the provision of a second higher education in the direction of "Economics and Entrepreneurship" with the specialty "Banking" at the educational qualification level "specialist", which was re-accredited in 2006 (decision of the DAK dated 22 June 2006, protocol No. 61), and organizes training for employees of the National Bank of Ukraine system for professional programs advanced training of civil servants (economists and cashiers of the departments of cash circulation and cash transactions, specialists of the departments for the transportation of valuables and the organization of collection of territorial departments of the NBU), for the program "Transportation of valuables and collection" - collectors and drivers of the departments for the transportation of valuables and the organization of collection; advanced training courses for commercial banking institutions; short-term seminars on current issues in banking

According to the license of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated April 22, 2003, series AA No. 429379, the institute provides educational services related to preparation for entry into the Institute of Gromadyanukraine.

Courses begin in the second half of October. Duration of training - 6 months for full-time or correspondence forms and, or in groups on weekends (Saturdays).
Cost of training for 6 months: full-time (evening or Saturday groups) - 700 UAH, part-time - 500 UAH.

In January, 3-month preparatory courses, full-time and part-time, begin. Preparation is carried out in the following disciplines:
- mathematics;
- Ukrainian language;
- economical geography;
- entry into the specialty

In groups on weekends, classes are held every Saturday from 8.30 to 16 hours
Evening groups study 3 times a week on weekdays from 16 to 19 hours (Monday, Wednesday, Friday).

Correspondence courses in preparation for entry are organized as follows: each student must complete 10 tests(3 each from mathematics, Ukrainian language, economic geography and 1 from “Introduction to the specialty”), according to the schedule, submit them to the institute for verification. Teacher consultations are held monthly on Saturdays. Final exams for the courses are held in April and at the same time are entrance exams to the institute

The Institute has permission from the Main Directorate of Military Education of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine for military training of students in the reserve officer program, which is carried out at the Kharkov Institute of Tank Forces NTU "KhPI". According to the letter of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated 06.03.2002 No. 1/9-121, an educational institution is allowed an external form of study in the direction of "Economics and Entrepreneurship" with the specialty "Banking" at the educational qualification level "Bachelor"; specialties "Banking", "Accounting and Audit" at the educational qualification level "specialist".

There are over 1,100 students studying at the institute. Total number employees 197 persons, serve educational process 89 scientific and pedagogical workers, average age of whom is 37 years old, of which 6 are doctors of science, professors, candidates of science, associate professors - 36.

Humanitarian and professional training students is carried out by 5 departments: social and humanitarian disciplines, economic theory, banking, accounting and finance, higher mathematics and computer technologies.

The departments have laboratories for technical teaching aids, PEOM, payment systems and computer science, and a basic training station.

The laboratory of technical teaching aids ensures the use of modern technical means in the educational process, the preparation of own educational videos based on a non-linear editing system.

The PEOM, payment systems and computer science laboratory serves 8 computer classrooms, which are connected by a local network and controlled from the computer center. Each of them has a specific purpose: studying the application packages “Parus-Enterprise 7.4”, “1 S-Accounting 7.7”, “Info-Accountant”; studying the software of the electronic payment system of Ukraine (Bars, Isaod-Bank, ARM-NBU, ARM-2, EP); work on multimedia information carriers and work on the INTERNET network.

In order to bring the educational process closer to the real working conditions of banking institutions, enterprises, firms of various forms of ownership, the institute has created a basic training station, which includes a basic training bank and basic training companies. The premises of the initial training station are equipped with modern office furniture, computers, interactive whiteboards and multimedia equipment. During the practical classes Students develop professional skills and habits using real software, which subsequently facilitates the rapid adaptation of graduates to the workplace and provides them with a competitive advantage in the job market.

The institute's library includes a reading room, a library point in the dormitory, and has over 74,000 copies of educational, scientific, reference and fiction, which meets the standards of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. The annual replenishment of the library with educational literature, including our own, reaches 2 thousand copies. The library's work is fully computerized (the IRBIS program is used). The head of the institute's library is a member of the Association of Modern Information and Library Technologies and takes part in the creation of a consolidated catalog of periodicals in the Kharkov region.

To meet the needs of educational, research and organizational-administrative processes with printed materials, the institute has an editorial and publishing department, where multivalent equipment and an operational publishing system are located.

The institute pays significant attention to practical training of students. The types of practice are: in the 3rd year - educational, in the 4th year - production, in the 5th year - production and pre-diploma, in addition, master's students also undergo scientific and pedagogical practice. Educational practice is carried out on the basis of a basic training station, scientific and pedagogical practice is carried out at the departments of the institute, production and pre-graduate practice is carried out on the basis of banking institutions, enterprises, etc. The specialization of the production practice of individual students ensures an in-depth study of certain areas of banking activity. This provides the opportunity for a targeted offer to employers of graduates for employment according to the specialization they have received.

Today, the institute has bilateral cooperation agreements with 13 banks and enterprises, for practical training with over 60 banking institutions and enterprises.

The selection of senior students for further employment is carried out in several stages: this is the submission of student resumes to the bank, written group testing, individual interviews at the educational institution and directly at banking institutions and enterprises with the participation of heads of structures that need specialists. As a result, employment of students is ensured already in the 4th year and full employment of graduates from the institute.

The best students of the institute have the opportunity to receive personal scholarships from the NBU and commercial banks in the amount of 100 to 400 UAH. monthly, as well as the Kharkov Regional State Administration. There are currently 34 such scholarships. Students who study on a contract basis also receive them.

Considerable and constant attention in the educational institution is given to the introduction of information technologies in the educational process and management activities:
- the total number of computers at the institute is 306 units, including 130 of them used in the educational process;

A set of works has been carried out regarding the introduction of a distance education system into the educational process: software products LERSUS, MOODLE are used, instructors have been trained to work in the Learnіng Space environment, our own regulatory and methodological base has been developed, and introduced into the educational process from retraining 26 distance courses, developed in-house and a system of interactive communication between teachers and students during the study was created academic disciplines: FORUM, GUARD.

Considerable attention in the preparation of students is given to their learning of a foreign language (English, German, French). The institute has introduced a ramified approach to the study of foreign languages ​​in the context of the Bologna process: foreign language training of future specialists is carried out at language proficiency levels determined by pan-European recommendations from language education (A - elementary user, B - independent user, C - advanced user). The institute's computer classrooms are equipped with multimedia tools (sound cards, headphones, CD ROM devices), which allows them to be used as language labs and increase the level of students' mastery of foreign languages

The main objectives of the research work of an educational institution are to ensure comprehensive integration of the educational process, scientific and scientific-production activities. The entire scientific and teaching staff and over 70% of students are annually involved in research work, working on the development of scientific topics, in particular: " Modern technologies financial and banking activities in Ukraine", "Regional aspects of the development of the banking sector (using the example of the Kharkov region)", etc.

Prepared analytical materials for studying the financial condition of banks in the Kharkov region

Every year the number and volume of printed scientific and educational products, which are prepared by teachers of the institute, increase. Thus, over the past 3 years, more than 10 monographs, over 30 manuals with the stamp of MONU, over 300 methodological developments and more than 400 articles have been published. The results of the research work of the institute’s teachers are reflected in the publications of various scientific professional publications, such as “Bulletin of the NBU”, “Economy of Ukraine”, “Finance of Ukraine”, “Banking”, “Law in Ukraine”.

Born in 2005-2006 47 teachers took part in 58 scientific conferences.

The Institute is a participant in the regional annual exhibition "Education - Science - Production", the regional annual competition "Higher School of the Kharkov Region - the best names."

To improve the process of managing scientific work at the institute, in 2005, the database “Catalog of Scientific Developments of KhBI” was developed, the implementation of which is cost-effective in the educational deposit management system.

In order to intensify the research work of students at the institute, a system has been created for their widespread involvement in various forms of research activities: from the 1st year, students work in thematic groups and scientific circles, take part in competitions scientific works, subject Olympiads, student scientific conferences and competitions in the specialty. In order to track the development of creatively gifted youth and the realization of their potential, the Institute created a data bank “Giftedness”, which is constantly updated and replenished based on the results of students’ activities, and a coordinating council for working with gifted students operates. Our students visit commercial banking institutions, regional administration NBU, annually the educational institution holds competitions “Best in Profession” and a competition for the best diploma project, meetings are organized with practical employees of banking institutions, graduates of the institute

Of course, the goal of educational work at the institute is not only the training of specialists high level, but also the development of high spirituality and morality of students. This is achieved through the organization of charitable activities and the participation of our students in the state program "Mercy". Every month, students of the institute visit a boarding school for children with hearing impairments, and also provide assistance to disabled children at boarding school No. 3. Twice a year, the institute holds a campaign to collect things, toys, and household goods for donation to orphanages. For war veterans, meetings with students, festive events, dedicated to the Day Victory, excursions to the Museum of Military Glory.

In order to organize leisure time for students, excursions to Kharkov museums, literary and musical evenings, and themed educational hours are held.

Significant assistance in creating conditions for effective learning, meaningful recreation, labor activity, charitable assistance is provided by student organizations, and above all - student council Institute. Traditionally, the artistic groups of the youth center hold events: “Day of Knowledge”, competition “Young Debut”, “Student’s Day”, “Beauty of the Academy”, etc.

A big role is given physical education as one of the elements of organizing meaningful healthy leisure for students. Already traditionally the following events are held: autumn and spring athletics cross-country races, competitions in table tennis, basketball, football, volleyball, rhythmic dance competition, tourist trips to historical places of the Kharkov region.

There are 6 sports sections: volleyball, basketball, recreational aerobics, table tennis, fitness. Of course, our pride is a comfortable hostel. The university was also the first in Ukraine to publish a textbook on corporate social responsibility. He initiated the introduction of corporate social responsibility science as a compulsory discipline for study in higher education estadlishments. The first job description of a professional level corporate social responsibility manager was developed.

University experts have developed a pilot educational course “Financial Literacy”. They became the authors of similar manuals for teachers and students. After successful experimental training of schoolchildren, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine approved the study financial literacy in secondary schools.
