New dress uniform of the armed forces. What uniforms do Air Force soldiers and officers wear?

On August 1, 2015, a new branch of the military was created, which was named, for this purpose the air force and military space defense forces were combined. Just like in other types of troops, a new model of clothing for military personnel was adopted. Military personnel of the Aerospace Forces can be distinguished from representatives of other troops by the characteristic blue color of their uniforms.

Modern uniform for space forces

The uniform of military personnel of the Aerospace Forces, as well as other branches of the military, includes three main types.

  1. Front door. It is intended for participation in military events, such as parades, presentation of the banner, receipt of military awards and other significant events.
  2. Field. Used for service, participation in hostilities and providing assistance to the population during emergencies. It is the main one for military personnel.
  3. Office. Used at times other than the first two. This form is issued at the recruiting station. The military personnel stay there until they arrive at the military unit.

Each type of uniform has two sets designed for different seasons, winter and summer. Let's take a closer look at what is included in each kit kit.

Summer option

The ceremonial version of the uniform of military personnel of the Russian Aerospace Forces, for cadets and enlisted personnel, of the summer type is a suit. It can be blue or khaki. Under his tunic, a private is required to wear a shirt of the same color, complemented by a tie with a gold tack. Officers are expected to wear a jacket and trousers of the same colors in combination with a white shirt and black tie. The cap of a VKS serviceman must be matched to the color of the suit. The set should include a gold belt.

The field version of the uniform for privates and cadets of the VKS, abbreviated as VKPO, is no different from the uniform version for the ground forces. The kit should include the following clothing items:

  • short sleeve underwear;
  • jacket with trousers;
  • summer boots;
  • cap;
  • nude summer T-shirt.

For Air Force servicemen serving in Syria, a special set of uniforms was developed, designed for especially hot climate. The Air Force uniform includes a jacket, trousers, a T-shirt and light-colored hats.

The office uniform for military personnel of the Russian Aerospace Forces differs in color from the uniform of other branches of the military. For military personnel of the military space forces it is blue. Otherwise, in style and details, it is similar to the uniform of other troops. Stripes and shoulder straps are issued in accordance with the serviceman's type of troops and his ranks.

Winter set

Office winter uniform for military personnel of the Aerospace Forces, complemented by insulated combat boots and a pea coat of the same color as the main suit, blue or protective. The winter set includes a muffler and a hat.

The field clothing for military personnel of all military branches is identical. The VKPO winter set includes a warm sweater, winter boots, warm socks, warm thermal underwear, a balaclava and a hat. The set is also equipped with an insulated jacket and vest.

Uniforms for VKS officers include trousers and a jacket. Usually this is a blue or khaki set. In the form of outerwear, the officer is supposed to wear a coat. It can be either gray or blue, complemented by a warm muffler. He is supposed to wear a gray hat with earflaps.

For high-ranking officers, an astrakhan fur hat and a collar made of the same fur are provided. The VKS dress uniform can be complemented by a white muffler with white gloves. The uniform also includes a gold belt.

Dembel uniform

The tradition of leaving for demobilization in a special uniform dates back to the times Soviet Union. This form was prepared in advance, six months in advance. Now you can order it on certain websites on the Internet. The uniform is decorated with all sorts of additions, such as aiguillettes, insignia, and rivets. There is also a demobilization version of the VKS uniform; it has its own characteristics. Any demobilization is of two types, strict and exclusive. The difference between them is the degree of finishing with various accessories.

The demobilization form of the VKS may include the following details:

A parade dedicated to the 72nd anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War was held in Moscow. More than 10 thousand military personnel representing all branches and branches of the Armed Forces and other law enforcement agencies of Russia marched solemnly across Red Square. Following them, 114 units of military equipment, led by the legendary Soviet medium tank T-34-85, drove along the Kremlin paving stones in parade formation. But there were no planes or helicopters in the sky over Moscow that day - the weather made its own adjustments to the protocol. However, even without aviation, the guests of the ceremony had something to see.

Military fashion and debutants

The air in the capital by 09.30 am had barely warmed up to 2-3 degrees. Because of strong wind On Red Square, the situation turned out to be, needless to say, “as close as possible to combat.” In order not to freeze the personnel of the foot parade crews in vain, the command allowed the military personnel to put on winter spotted pea coats before the ceremony. So, before the formation, all the participants in the celebration looked approximately the same, with the exception of the soldiers of the 61st separate Kirkenes Marine Brigade. The Marines of the Northern Fleet, taking part in the parade in Moscow for the first time, stood completely calmly in the piercing wind in their light black uniform and did not seem to even move. In the village of Sputnik in the Murmansk region, where this connection is based, the frosts are, to put it mildly, even stronger.

The Marines of the Northern Fleet fully deserved the honor of representing their brigade on May 9 on Red Square. During the Great Patriotic War they fought against the Wehrmacht troops in Karelia, participated in the pursuit of the enemy in the Kandalaksha and Kestenga directions, and took the Norwegian Kirkenes. During the first Chechen campaign, soldiers and officers of the 61st brigade, together with motorized rifles and special forces, took Grozny. A photograph of St. Andrew's flag waving over Dudayev's palace went around all the world's leading media at that time.

Less experienced, but no less promising participants also made their debut on May 9. This year, for the first time, a parade squad of the military-patriotic movement “Yunarmiya”, created on the initiative of the Ministry of Defense, DOSAAF and the Central Sports Club of the Army, took place on Red Square. Today, the ranks of this organization include about 30 thousand young Russians aged 11 to 18 years. Young patriots came to the parade wearing bright red berets and unusual sand-colored camouflage, similar to what the Russian military wears in Syria.

Military personnel of the Combined Arms Academy and the Aerospace Forces Academy demonstrated new jackets with a stand-up collar. But the spectators most actively greeted the girls in uniform: the parade squad of the Military University of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation walked along the paving stones of Red Square for the first time in blue jackets, white skirts and black boots. Previously, all female “boxes” taking part in the Victory Parade were dressed in white uniforms.***

The musical accompaniment is also worth mentioning. This year, the combined thousand-pipe orchestra was led by Colonel Timofey Mayakin, who replaced General Valery Khalilov, the permanent conductor of the Victory Parades, who died on December 25, 2016. However, Valery Mikhailovich was mentioned at the ceremony: by order of the Government Russian Federation on December 30, 2016, his name was given to the Moscow Military Music School, whose students - a company of drummers - traditionally opened the walking part of the parade.

New technology

There were few new types of military equipment at the Victory Parade in Moscow, but more than last year. For the first time, vehicles designed specifically for our Arctic group were shown to the general public. These are Pantsir-SA short-range anti-aircraft missile and gun systems and Tor-M2DT short-range anti-aircraft missile systems. Both systems are mounted on the basis of two-link tracked all-terrain vehicles DT-30 “Vityaz”. This choice of chassis has significantly increased the mobility and maneuverability of anti-aircraft systems, which can now overcome water obstacles and independently “break” their way through hummock fields. “Pantsir-SA” and “Tor-M2DT” were the only models of equipment that walked across Red Square in winter camouflage colors, standing out sharply against the background of combat vehicles painted in the usual green.

A couple of new products were shown and Ground troops. Motorized riflemen demonstrated Tiger-M vehicles - the latest modification of armored vehicles, which are gradually displacing obsolete UAZs from the troops. The vehicle is equipped with a new YaMZ 5347-10 diesel engine, a new armored hood, a filter-ventilation unit, the number of seats has been increased to 9, the turntable with a double-leaf hatch has been replaced with one square-shaped hinged hatch. All these changes are dictated by the experience of combat use of “Tigers” in “hot spots”.

Tankers rolled out T-72B3M tanks to the parade. These combat vehicles are equipped with the Relikt dynamic protection complex and lattice anti-cumulative shields on the engine compartment and the back of the turret. In addition, this vehicle has improved operation of the automatic loader, the engine has been significantly strengthened, and the fire control system (FCS), according to open sources, replaced by the newest "Kalina". This control system is installed, in particular, on the promising T-14 Armata tank. It is assumed that until the latter begins to enter service en masse, the T-72B3M and T-90 will form the basis of the tank fleet Russian army.

Surely everyone has watched a military parade at least once in their life. And this large-scale gala event for military personnel evokes a storm of enthusiastic emotions and exclamations of admiration. How could it be otherwise when parade boxes in a wide variety of beautiful military uniforms walk in front of you in even ranks. Here, even a person who is quite far from the army and everything connected with it will involuntarily feel a warm wave rolling somewhere under the heart, called “Pride”. Pride in one’s homeland and beautifully dressed officers and warrant officers, sergeants and soldiers.

And some people ask the question, “What did the uniform of the Armed Forces look like before?” Let's follow the development of military uniforms from the first samples of wool-blend uniforms to the modern VKPO uniform set.

History of uniforms

At all times of development Russian state the army was an indicator of government power. And it’s no secret that every ruler monitored this indicator and sought to highlight them with beautiful and prominent clothes. The style of clothing cut by Nicholas I was dictated by Western Europe, and the military uniforms were not much different from Western models.

With the coming to power of Alexander, everything changed somewhat, uniforms acquired heraldry, and mandatory uniform wearing of clothing was introduced.

In the 1870s, the opulence of officers' clothing gave way to practicality. First of all, the emphasis was on convenience when performing any tasks for military personnel. The only ones who abandoned expensive tailoring in those days were the guards cavalrymen. Other military tsarist army worn:

  1. Uniforms, light cut. They had large, wide collars with braided gold piping around the circumference of the stand. The cuff of the uniform was also made in the form of classic weaving.
  2. On the head they wore a round, low-rise black hat with lamb fur. The military attached the St. Andrew's cockade to the frontal part, and under it was the national coat of arms - double headed eagle.
  3. Long wool overcoats. Their peculiarity was that the military man fastened it with special hooks that hid the button shining in the sun.
  4. It was decided to completely remove all the shiny elements of the previous uniform due to the desire of military leaders to increase the camouflage properties of the soldiers.

In order to distinguish which unit or branch of the military the serviceman belongs to, they decided to introduce numbering on shoulder straps and bands on caps. In areas with particularly hot climatic conditions The heavy and dense uniform was replaced by a tunic.

The soldiers of the tsarist army wore tunics, short fur coats and sheepskin coats in winter, and white linen shirts in summer.

This form of clothing existed until the end of the reign of Nicholas II. The last Emperor Tsarist Russia, having ascended the throne, did not invent reforms to change the uniform that was already convenient at that time. The changes affected mainly the color scheme, assigning each regiment in the tsarist army its own color. Now the number 1 on the chase was accompanied by red, number 2 by blue, number 3 by white.

On the eve of the First World War, the uniform of army cavalrymen underwent major changes. The modest buttonless uniform was replaced by a double-breasted uniform sewn at the waist with matching colored piping on the cuffs and collar stand.

USSR military uniform

After the February coup of 1917, the first Red Guard detachments began to form, which became the ancestors of the Red Army. They did not have a set uniform, and the fighters were dressed according to the principle of “whoever wears what.” The only insignia of that time between soldiers was considered to be a bandage made of red material with white letters “Red Guard”.

By the way, there was no uniformity here either, and sometimes the fighters simply tied a red cloth over their shoulders. If only in the turmoil of those troubled events they didn’t shoot their own people.

The wardrobe of military personnel of that time was a complete mess.

At the very beginning of the bloody revolutionary days, the Red Guard detachments were more like partisans than an organized army. The only thing that was uniform was the desire to build a happy and balanced socialist society. Otherwise, uniforms of the Russian Imperial Army captured in warehouses, caps, trousers, short fur coats, overcoats, tunics, and imported uniforms from other countries were suitable for wearing.

There were frequent cases of those times when the only insignia of a detachment commander was a recognizable face and voice. Towards the end of 1919, the uniform bustle gradually faded away.

In 1922, the wearing of uniforms was finally regulated; each soldier in the hierarchical command level of the Red Guard was assigned a list of uniforms that he was required to wear in accordance with the season. The idea of officer ranks and shoulder straps was also rejected, and a new system of insignia was introduced. These were red sleeve patches in the form of triangles, squares and diamonds on the left flaps of the sleeves, and each of them assigned the serviceman to one or another command position.

The new reform drew a clear line between dress, casual and field uniforms.

However, at the same time, the combat uniform differed from the field uniform only in that the serviceman in the second version was required to wear a set of field equipment and a steel helmet.

A little later, another type of field uniform was added - the guard uniform. It was also practically no different from the field one. The military uniform in this version did not imply wearing binoculars, a flask and other insignificant details of the uniform field equipment of a serviceman.

One of the goals of the 1935 reform was to clearly organize the types and branches of troops using color schemes. Unlike previous attempts to do this, the 1935 reform coped with this task so successfully that the color scheme for distinguishing military personnel from the branches and branches of the military existed until 1965 without changes.

Infantry unitsThe band of the cap is crimson;
Buttonholes - black;
The edging of the trousers is crimson.
CavalrymenThe band of the cap is blue;
Buttonholes - black;
The edging of the trousers is blue.
Artillery units
Buttonholes - red;
The edging of the trousers is red..
AviatorsThe band of the cap is blue;
Buttonholes - dark blue;
The edging of the trousers is blue.
Troops technical support, engineers and communications specialistsThe band of the cap is black;
Buttonholes - blue;
The edging of the trousers is blue.
RCBZ troopsThe band of the cap is black;
Buttonholes - black;
The piping of the trousers is black.
Prosecutor's office, military doctors and veterinariansThe band of the cap is dark green;
The buttonholes are dark green with red trim;
The edging of the trousers is red.

In mid-1940, a number of new ranks were introduced, which concerned the highest echelon of the hierarchical level of commanders. Thus, division and corps commanders received general and admiral ranks. In addition, a special uniform was introduced for senior officers, in which the edging of the collar and stripes on blue trousers were especially prominent. The color of the stripes corresponded to the color of the serviceman's branch of service.

Another change affecting the ranks of military personnel was the introduction of the ranks of sergeant by order of the People's Commissar of Defense on November 2, 1940. In 1943, the word “officer” returned and for military personnel they introduced new system military ranks, thereby significantly strengthening the hierarchical system of differences between military personnel.

The system was based on the Russian shoulder strap system Imperial Army, changing it a little.

Thus, the hexagonal shoulder straps of junior officers had one gap, the senior - two, the shoulder straps of the highest level of the hierarchical level of military personnel were without gaps, and large five-pointed stars were embroidered.

Dress codes were divided into the following categories:

  • dress uniform for and out of formation;
  • field uniform for and outside the formation (out-of-service, in turn, was divided into three-year varieties).

Officers' dress uniform Soviet army had a steel-gray color, the use of emblems with the symbols of the branch of service on the buttonholes came into use. The jacket was worn with a white shirt and a tie in the color scheme corresponding to the branch of the military. A new type of cockade was also introduced, in which a five-pointed red star was surrounded by stylized leaves in the form of a border.

In 1960, due to the high cost of manufacturing uniforms, the command decided in favor of replacing some elements of the military personnel's wardrobe. These elements added durability and uniformity to military clothing.

Gradually, the command began to come to an even greater simplification of the color differences between the branches and types of troops.

Green and blue colors were abolished in the manufacture of edgings on military trousers. By 1980, the USSR Armed Forces used four colors to distinguish military personnel:

  • Red;
  • Blue;
  • Crimson;
  • Black.

By 1988, the unification of colors reached three colors: red, blue and black.

Uniform of the RF Armed Forces

With the collapse of the Soviet Union, military uniforms also underwent some changes.

The dress uniform was almost identical to the combat uniform, with the exception of several design elements:

  • The senior officers replaced their hats with astrakhan hats in winter time of the year.
  • The piping on the cuffs was removed from the design of the jackets.
  • On the crowns of the caps, a sign in the form of a double-headed eagle with spread wings was now attached in the middle.
  • The jackets of junior and senior officers retained the same cut and color scheme, as did the edgings of the trousers. Soon it became mandatory to wear metal insignia of branches and branches of troops on the sides of uniforms. A little later, for greater ordering between which unit this or that serviceman of the RF Armed Forces belongs to, it became mandatory to sew a chevron on the right sleeve. On the left sleeve, servicemen wore a chevron indicating their membership in the armed forces.
  • On the sides of the senior officers of the military personnel, embroidered stylistic leaves of golden color were provided.
  • Women military personnel who had previously worn berets were now required to wear caps according to their uniform.

The serviceman's field uniform included the following wardrobe elements:

  • Camouflage with “spotted” colors, which included three colors: green, dark green and brown. The jacket was equipped with six flap pockets - two on the sleeves, two on the chest and two on the bottom of the clothing. Metal signs of the serviceman's belonging to the branch of the military were attached to the collar of the jacket. The trousers in some versions were also equipped with two valves, which were located in the middle of the thigh, slightly above the knees.
  • The field uniform required servicemen to wear a universal camouflage cap, made on the principle of a hat with earflaps and fastened at the top with two buttons. The cap was equipped with a metal cockade in field colors, in the form of a five-pointed star, and was attached in the middle above the wide visor.
  • The field uniform required military personnel to wear high-top boots;
  • In winter, officers, warrant officers, sergeants and soldiers wore an insulated jacket with a fur collar. It was made in the same color scheme as the camouflage and was equipped with valves on the chest and sleeves;
  • In winter, military personnel wore a hat with earflaps equipped with a cockade;
  • Complete with field uniform in mandatory there was a waist belt - a leather belt for officers and a hard belt with a gold or silver plaque for conscript soldiers. Mostly the waist belt was worn over the jacket. Exceptions were special forces, paratroopers and reconnaissance officers, who tucked their jacket into their trousers by threading the belt into holes specially provided for this in the waist of the trousers.

The uniform retained its appearance until 2008; all changes after 1997 were aimed mainly at streamlining heraldry and were not global in nature.

2008 reform

By the end of 2006, the command began to understand the fact that the previous uniforms of military personnel no longer met modern quality standards. In 2007, after A.E. Serdyukov, a man who had a very indirect relationship with the army service, came to the post of Minister of Defense, preparations began for a new reform. She, according to the management, had to not only solve pressing issues in wearing uniforms, but also give a head start to foreign analogues in terms of quality of execution.

In the same year, the development task new form clothes were supplied to fashion designer Valentin Yudashkin, a man even further from the concept of military service and the range of tasks performed by military personnel.

Huge amounts of money from the country's budget were allocated to the designer to complete the task; the development of a new uniform took almost 2 years, and the military personnel eagerly awaited its appearance.

At the beginning of 2010, Presidential Decree No. 293 announced the gradual introduction of a new form of clothing into circulation.

To the great disappointment of the military personnel, in practice the new uniform turned out to be practically unsuitable for use in the conditions of performing both everyday tasks and tasks in combat training and combat situations. Such a uniform would be useful, perhaps only at the Dolce Gabbana fashion show in Paris.

  • The dress uniform was no different in cut from the everyday one. Double-breasted jackets were now fastened with three buttons, rather than four, as before. It was decided to return the colors of the jackets and trousers, but at the same time the piping from the trousers was removed. The new jackets were heavily sewn in at the waist, which sometimes hampered the movements of military personnel and created difficulties in selecting the appropriate size;
  • It took the designer almost two years to accept, in his opinion, a revolutionary change in the everyday overcoat. Now it was fastened not with three buttons, but with four, and had a closed look instead of an open one. At the same time, compared to the previous model of the overcoat, the new one no longer protects the serviceman from low temperatures;
  • The field uniform not only did not become better than the previous one in terms of wear resistance, but was also many times inferior to it. The innovative solution to move the shoulder strap to the chest in practice turned out to be unacceptable for combat training tasks;
  • The winter field kit could not cope with its functional load, and servicemen froze in it even at not very low temperatures.

In general, the reform was considered a failure, and almost all military personnel reacted to it with indignation, preferring the old uniforms.

Reform 2012

Immediately after the appointment of Shoigu S.K. to the post of Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, a global reorganization of Yudashkin’s uniform began, main goal which was the correction of the modeller's mistakes. A number of design solutions were carried out that gave successful results and military uniforms finally began to meet modern quality standards. As a result, dress uniform The clothes were practically no different from Yudashkin’s, except that the quality of tailoring had changed, becoming an order of magnitude higher.

Serious changes have affected everyday clothing. The so-called office uniform set is included in circulation. A soldier's wardrobe includes a lightweight jacket with a zipper. It has two flap chest pockets with Velcro closure and zippered pockets.

The chest flaps are also equipped with Velcro, on which stripes with the serviceman's name and a sign of belonging to the RF Armed Forces are attached. The servicemen stick a unit chevron and a chevron with the image of the Russian tricolor on their sleeves; the trousers are made in classic style and have a stitched arrow.

Such types of uniforms began to arrive to the troops in mid-2013.

It was called the “office uniform,” and many military personnel still for a long time They couldn’t get used to it, associating the name with civilian specialties. In addition, the first samples that the military received were very difficult to iron, especially for trousers.

But a year later this problem was eliminated. One of the undeniable advantages of this uniform is its lightness and versatility, which previous samples could not boast of. Currently, uniforms are supplied to troops in three color schemes. Green - infantry and artillery, blue - aviators and paratroopers, black - Navy And Marines.

The cap has changed greatly. The crown and visor became noticeably smaller in size, which made the headdress both compact and elegant. In the autumn, military personnel wear a knee-length insulated jacket made of lamb fur (the jacket is provided in both men's and women's wardrobes).

In the winter months, the wardrobe of military personnel adds an insulated Alaska coat with goose down and a fur collar, similar in cut to the knee-length demi-season jacket. Both jackets are equipped with a zipper and are very similar in design and are fastened to the chin (the clothing is provided in both men's and women's wardrobes).

The insulated autumn jacket and “Alaska” are very similar in cut and the only fundamental difference is the materials from which they are made.

The autumn coat is also stitched with red thread in the area of the zipper lock. The flap pockets of this version are equipped with button clasps, with heraldry in the form of a five-pointed star and the phrase “Russian Army” around it. The winter “Alaska” does not have such fastener buttons; its valves are equipped with sewn-in flat magnets.

Women's headdress in winter is a miniature astrakhan hat, in summer it is a stump-shaped cap with a long visor and a cockade in the middle; in some units of the RF Armed Forces, caps are worn. The office uniform set for female military personnel is complemented by trousers and a skirt.

Men's footwear is represented by two types of boots - officer's shoes without laces and boots with thick soles, made of varnished materials. Female military personnel wear shoes with low wide heels in the summer, and boots with sheepskin in the winter.

Appearance The field uniform has also undergone major changes. In addition, many new things have been added to the wardrobe, thanks to which military personnel can perform tasks in almost any conditions of everyday and combat training. The wardrobe includes:

  1. Camouflage with the same Velcro arrangement as the office uniform. The camouflage had a zipper and could be fastened in two positions - leaving the chest open (first) and the floor of the throat, securing the zipper with another Velcro (second). The first sets began to arrive to the troops along with office uniforms in 2013.
  2. A set of demi-season uniforms, which must be worn by military personnel from autumn to spring. It is an elastic lightweight suit with a zipper made of dense fabric that is resistant to moisture.
  3. An insulated sleeveless vest with a zipper and a fleece jacket are designed to keep the soldier from freezing in the cool season;
  4. In winter, servicemen wore an insulated Bolognese jacket with a zipper and trousers with suspenders;
  5. In summer, a cap with a long visor is used as a headdress, in winter - a universal hat with Velcro, which completely protects the ears from low temperatures.

In addition to the above, the wardrobe of a serviceman in the modern Russian army includes universal sets of summer and winter underwear, which maintain normal body temperature in any weather. In winter, military personnel wear a fleece jacket and insulated underwear.

The summer/autumn underwear set includes:

  • a short-sleeve T-shirt and cotton briefs;
  • A long-sleeved T-shirt and dark green long johns.
  • The requirements for military personnel are growing every day, and along with this, the requirements for modern uniforms are also growing. Today, a serviceman’s wardrobe fully complies with all quality standards, and minor reforms after 2014 are more of a compositional nature than constructive.
